Anyone watch the belgium GP? The last 3 laps were amazing, can't believe the post race penalties. Although I'm a die hard Ferrari fan, currently backing Massa, I must admit Hamilton did an amazing job, no denying he's a natural behind the wheel.

you must watch to believe, incredibly car control by everyone in the closing laps, then heifield makes everyone look like they're standing still cause he went on inters. ended up finishing 3rd.

I watched, the last few laps were comical indeed! What happened penalty-wise after the race?

Yes, quite a race. Isn’t it great that F1 is a fun sport to watch again? I think the Mika were so confident of the win at 3 laps from finish, so he started to celebrate already then. He was clearly drunk during the final battle with Hamilton. I am cheering for Massa, so I am still happy.

Hamilton got a 25 second penalty, dropping him down to 3rd, giving heifield 2nd, and the win to Massa. Glock also got a 25sec penalty for passing under the caution for kimi's crash. that dropped him down a place or two, unfotunetly loosing the point I think he desereved. McLaren's going crazy, obviously they're appealing the penalty. it was given to them because although hamilton cut the chicane and got in front of Kimi, and then lifted to let him by, he still benifited too much from the manuver. www.formula1.com for more info.

Hamilton was forced to cut the chicane because Kimi moved over on him. The penalty is complete bullshit. I mean WTF was hamilton supposed to do?

WTF? I watched it last night, and, WOW, it was an awesome finish. Hamilton gave back the position after he got pushed off the track and cut the chicane. He had to slow alot to give up the position, so how did he gain an advantage from it? What penalty did the douche who pulled in front of them, and made Hamilton cross the grass, get? Seriously, that was just good racing, and to take that away from Hamilton is just total BS. He got RAN THRU THE GRASS....and was lucky he controlled it, cause it was WET, too. FIA needs to get their heads out of their asses.

Here's the last 3 laps. Tough to follow as the commentary is in Italian.

WTF with the penalty to Hamilton. He got hosed. Guess they want to keep the title race close. Is F1 taking lessons from ******** now?!?

look at that unfair advantage.

I dont follow F1, at 2:45, is he allowed to get passed at that yellow flag, wouldn't that be a penalty against the Ferrari as well?

I think the point was he only lifted enough to duck behind kimi and get the inside line into La Source. if he had stayed on it, he would have stayed next to kimi on his left, and had the outside line into La Source, in which case Kimi would have stayed ahead. Hamilton was the one trying to pass Kimi, so Kimi had the 'right of way'. it was his right to try and push him onto the grass, which he did.

and Braineack, I believe that pass was not for postion, only a blue flag pass, which is permissable. I believe.

WTF?! I had not heard this until now. Lame. Clearly he slowed and gave him back the position since he could have come out in front and blocked him. Hamilton deserves the win. He caught Kimi, passed him, Kimi ended up in the wall by his own fault, and Hamilton kept it on the track (mostly) FTW.

Right now, FIA =

I would be completely pissed if I was Hamilton, and McLaren. It will be a shame if this ends up being a factor in the championship at the end of the year.

Other than that, it was a great race. One more lap and Heidfeld would have been on top of the podium. Nice gamble on his part. Intermediates FTW!

He lifted to give up his position. That is erasing ANY advantage he might have had from cutting the corner. He let Kimi go and pick where he wanted to go, and then when he went to the outside, Hamilton dove to the inside. Hamilton didn't make Kimi take the outside, and the outside was the preferred line, so where is the advantage?

Yeah I thought it was legit that he backed off and then made the pass, I'm disappointed for Hamilton. 25 seconds? Bullshit.

outside is the prefered line only if there's no one there. inside is prefered to cut someone off. basically making the outside driver stay outside, instead of being able to do a outside-inside-outside racing turn.

I watched it again last night and I still say Hamilton got screwed by the FIA. He should win. Now I read that McLaren may decide not to appeal? I hope they do.

Blue Flag is to tell a car to let a faster or lapping car pass. You "must" move to the outside to let the car pass. Obviously its ignored from time to time, it would eventually result in a penalty.

I think since McLaren isn't appealing it seems about right. It's hard to say whether it was required for Hamilton to go across the grass/not track. He was forced out of the inside, but that is the way things go its what you do as lead car. What should have happened was Hamilton throwing on the brakes to stay behind him. Had Hamilton not cut the corner, he would not have had the same position on the following turn, lifting the throttle or not.

It's hard to say exactly how big it is, especially since the video is down and I can't watch it again. Sucks real bad for Hamilton. My current season favorite is Kimi Raikkonen. The crash is disappointing, but no one looked very "stable" with the wet track. Following Kimi though I really enjoy both Massa and Hamilton. The up coming years of racing between Massa and Hamilton will be great to watch.

am i watching this wrong? at 2:15, Hamilton gets forced into the grass and Kimi passes on a double yellow right? in the previous video I saw a yellow flag waving...so now he's in the lead, then does a 360 and it back in second.
