i'm pretty sure the only person i confused, or upset was you. Nobody is disputing that bigger and more efficient radiators help keep a car cool, and certainly the miata benefits. This however is a thread is about coolant re-routes. Specifically yours. Coolant re-routes are NOT inclusive of upgraded radiators or oil coolers.

Yes they are part of cooling system upgrades, not re-routes. Is that clear enough for you?

So everyone can level better with you Elito, they need to know how your logic works. Just to solidify things, granted its a different topic, heres the Tranny thread on Clubconartist.net:

So his idea of explaining "why all of the various things you've claimed are false are in fact false" is to post a couple pictures of an oil cooler.

I really hoped he was going to come up with something good.

[edit] Having received several PMs on the subject requesting that I not ban Hyper so that they too can see what he has to say, we'll let him continue to play for a while in this thread, and this thread only.

To Joe and Todd:

Now that you both someone somewhat understand my reroute coolant concept here is my approach and thoughts on my set up. First of all, in contrary to the existing reroute kits in today’s market and all reroutes options discussed in this forum, my concept is based that the “mixing” pipe (radiator to water-pump pipe) is the main reason most turbo miatas overheat, see article discussed in solomiata.com. A first view of my reroute system may seem odd and simple but involves three primary modifications to the engine cooling system. The reroute is pretty much an improved version of the stock miata cooling system, nothing else. ‘

My point is simple, forced induction engines, particularly those turbo systems using a water-cooled turbo tend to generate a lot heat to the cooling system. By bypassing the mixing pipe (radiator – water pump pipe cooling shall alleviate or bring benefit to the cooling system. The freeze plug in front of the cylinder head now directs coolant to exit to the rear such as all Mazda front wheel drive engines were designed. Overheating should no longer be of a concern.

In addition to what is stated, assiting a water-cooled turbocharged engine with an air to air oil cooler setup makes more sense that leaving the factory oil cooler. The basis is that an external air to air oil cooler allows me to bypass or remove the factory oil cooler set which will also bring some relieve to the miata cooling system.

As you should be aware by now the primary goal of my reroute consists of the following:

1. Installation of freeze plug in front of the cylinder head – to re-direct coolant to exit from the rear part of the cylinder head so that is imitates coolant flow similar to front wheel drive engines.

2. Bypass of water pump inlet pipe (mixing pipe) so hot coolant is not mixed with fresh coolant anymore

3. Bypass / removal of factory oil cooler

And supporting secondary goal (which can be of benefit too)

1. bigger radiator
2. bigger fans and shroud kit
3. oil cooler kit with thermostat

The system I am discussing here both of you ONLY may have flaws or need revisions, your thoughts and point of view are appreciated very much. I’d like to give it try.

I tried to tell him, Some how though my words don't matter, since the statement including the "full disclosure of the reroute" was only meant for you.

:tsk: He has some of the deafest ears I've ever come across. It's not that he won't listen to people, i think he can't.

I believe this is a more accurate representation of his current setup (removed oil cooler, added turbo):

And this is what he's trying to convey in the proposed freeze-plug system:

BTW, what are you drawing these in? They're really nice.

Thats going to be alot of water trying to get thru the heater core and small hoses. Not to mention you are now FEEDING your turbo the hottest water. I think it gets even worse. After you feed your turbo the hottest water, the turbo will heat it up even more and then send it back into the motor. Probably a small amount but still.
