Petit Le Mans, who is going?
So I'm seriously contemplating coming to Ammurrica for the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta in october (17-20 I believe). Anybody else planning to go? We should meat:party:
Shuiend/Lars: you better be there :makeout: |
I'm not seeing that on the schedule. Is it Sprint Cup or Nationwide?

I don't have enough remaining days off this year, but its on the list of stuff to do next year. |
Petit is a great event. I go most years, though I'm not sure if I will make it this year. If you are planning to camp, get there EARLY--as in when the gates open--to get a good spot. Camp sites will fill up quickly.

I am going to try to go. I have a wedding at the start of the month so I will have to see how much money and time off I can get.

Question- do venues such as this ever have RV hookups, or is it understood that you will be dry camping?
Different tracks have different amenities. Road Atlanta does have a few RV power hookups. I do not think they have any sewage hookups. |
Road Atlanta has power hookups but no sewage hookup. They have a few shower facilities spread all over the place. I will be there, but not camping.

I don't know if I'm going yet... but I compare it to the Talledega of Road Racing... party starts Tuesday. Screw the tent and ants this time, my rolling 'RV' Excursion is big enough to camp in :) |
Will be there....dunno if the Miata will be going or not.
Yay more mt.net peoples. Now if somebody could pick me up from the airport, that'd be great :giggle:
Depending on how much luggage you have....and where you'll be staying

-Raj If I camp--and that's a big if because my house is right up the road from the track--,I'll probably do so in my trailer. It has a/c. Plus that might motivate me to finally install the stereo. I was also considering a projector and xbox. |
There is a chance that I may not be going out. I am scheduled to go on a business trip to St. Louis in October. Unfortunately I have no clue when they will actually decide to have it, and knowing my luck it will be that week.
Oh don't you dare
So, who all are attending? The vendor village is packed full this year.
I wish I was out. I just could not afford taking off work to be out.
I didn't manage to get time off either. Watching quali right now
I can hear it from my house.
BTW, I heard rumors that the no outside alcohol policy is going to be actively enforced this year. It's always actually been a policy at RoadA, but we've always gotten away with crazy stuff from bringing in mountains of adult beverages to midnight offroad golf cart adventures to exploding propane tanks. I'm told that they will be cracking down this year. :dunno:
That's make me feel better I'm not going this year... was debating heading out in the morning for a day visit - but paying for over-priced beer is not happening - have fun - I'll be watching from the couch, drinking my cheap beer
No problem sneaking beer in for us. We took the CaymanR and parked in the Porsche corral. Was pretty good. Didn't seem as crowded this year, might have to do with no Audi or Peugeot.
That's what I was guessing as well from seeing some off the arial shots while streaming the video feed... maybe 3/4 of the crowd last year? you have fun - get durnk ;)
It was surprisingly empty this year compared to last. I didnt really mind to be honest though, We got to watch the race from pretty much every single turn at sometime during the race.
