what's really scary is the fact that you very well may ALREADY be a father, and just not know about it

Yup, 12weeks now. She's starting to feel better. Nausea is all gone and the headaches are only late at night. She's taking every ******* remedy anybody ever told her about and she swears each new one is the miracle ticket.

Our second ultrasound is in about 3hours. If "it's" facing the right way and it's a boy, they should be able to tell. She's really hoping for a boy... I have no preference.

The best part... I told her it was going to be about another $1500 to build the new motor. I even told her there was basically nothing wrong with the used one I just put in. And she said "Have fun"... and she meant it!!! It wasn't just the hormomes talking... she actually gave me the green-light for the thing. I think in the end it's gonna cost me bigtime with all the baby-****. I can hear it now:
"OH, I see how it is. You can buy a new motor for the stupid car but the baby gets generic Costco diapers."
"No, you can't buy baby-stuff off Craigslist, what's the matter with you???"
"No, the baby stroller doesn't need Toyos!"
"No, the baby isn't going to be seen in public in a Zoom-Zoom onesie!"
"No, a weekend at Bondurant is not appropriate for a 3month-old."

I hope it's a girl... every birthday present she gets $100 worth of Craftsman!
Wow thats great

I can see what you say about married life though.
"But sticky tires means the baby will be safer "
"oh you spend all day in the garage but the baby."

LOL I get that now and my GF lives 10 minutes from me lol. OH well I hope i'm fortunate enough to have kids one day.

I read in Hemmins Motor News years ago about a dad buying his son a brand new car the day he was born. When he turned 16 he gave him the car. A zero mile.....

Ultrasound went good. Apparently there's only a 5% chance of miscarriage at 10+weeks if there's a good heartbeat.
In the ultrasound, you can clearly see the baby has all limbs out... kinda looks like the classic Jordan dunk or maybe the Heisman move... gonna be a baller in any case I can tell.

No **** visible yet... gonna take another month or so of development... and even then it's gotta be facing the right way.

The miltary thing is a great benefit... no worries about money ever when it comes to medical/dental.

Part of me wants to take advantage of that. Just not sure what I would do with a manufacturing degree in the Navy.

Come on up to Baltimore and get all the **** I've still got from my kid. Good barely used Graco stroller with kid carrier, two bases to lock it in to two cars. Plenty of baby - 2YO toys, changing table, keep the money for mods. Tell the baby shower folks to buy diapers and wipes.

Congrats,
Frank

Kids are a giant pain in the ***. Wait until they're teenagers. I know, I have three of the bastards. I highly recommend using effective birth control.

Haha....congrats.

Sam -

Congrats!

From time to time it can be a hellish rollercoaster ride, but overall I've not found much of anything that beats being a Dad. (And I say this with not one, but two teenaged daughters in the house...)

That's a helluva offer. The wife is going baby-stuff loco. She's already done most of the homework on everything we (read: parents) are gonna need to buy. Graco is top-of-the-list! I'll keep this thread in mind in a few months!
