Questions about being a new member

I just signed up hoping to be able to post a part on this forum. It says I don't have access. I have a Miata, I race autocross. I just want to sell a fender and Craigslist hasn't produced anything for me. Any ideas of where I can go or a forum I can post on without being a member for 6 months and having over 200 posts? Yes, I've tried other forums too. Thanks for the help.

You don't get to use the tools that are provided for free without contributing. That's how this works.

Temree, as internet bots and scam artists get more and more creative in their methods, the methods to counter them need to keep pace. Instituting a minimum post count and time requirement before posting in the classifieds on any forum is pretty standard. Plus, most forums are run on some sort of a business model, which is very 'Merica... so being a contributing member of the forum, taking the time to post, buying products from community vendors, etc, help the forum stay solvent... that's how a lot of forum members "pay" for their use of "free" classifieds.

In other words, you're not one of us yet. I think it's 10 posts and/or 10 days here... but also because of 'Merica, you can jump to the front of the line and be considered a local and use the classifieds immediately for a small fee, I believe. I can already tell you're legit because of your perfect sentence structure, punctuation, and proper use of capital letters, so congrats for that.

As for your fender, if somebody was looking for a Miata part, CL would be the first place they go because used Miata body parts grow on trees pretty much everywhere and that's where people sell stuff like that. Plus, fenders cost more to ship than their worth, so finding somebody local (who's already looking on CL anyways) is your only bet. Basically, there just isn't somebody within driving distance of you who wants a dented white '99 Miata fender right now... at any price.
