Which radar detector do you like the best?
I like Passport 9500i all but the cost. It uses GSP to silence false alarms.
This is the greatest feature it is so quite unless there is a real threat. But too much $$$ Mark |
I just compared a Bel 955 to the older top of the line Passport (no gps) over 8 hours of driving and the 955 picked up all of the speed traps with a whole lot less false alarms.

Picked mine up for ~180 at Fry's. It can be had cheaper online.

Wow that is a lot cheaper than 9500i. I need to get a second one I will check this one out.
Thanks. Mark |

Can't buy radar detectors here in Virginia .
That being said, I had a V1 in my old Eclipse and loved it :bigtu:..now I just drive ~5mph over the speed limit unless I'm on curvy back roads (which is where I spend the majority of my time) no cops ever run radar on those around here...knock on wood. |
I've been extremely happy with my Beltronics BEL RX65 Radar Detector, it's saved me many times. It's comparable to the V1 in performance testing (even beats it in some test).
Check out radarbusters.com It has everything you need to know. |

V1.
Show me another detector which can show you the direction of the source, and then I'll consider the V1 as having competition. |

If you care about direction, V1
If you don't care about direction and prefer the same accuracy as the V1 but want to know individual signal strengths of multiple radar sources (my case), Escort 8500 or the new 9500 My 8500 is just as accurate is my friends V1, so its down to what features you prefer. |
V1 has been my preference for a few years. Would love to test out the new 9500 head to head, though.
I also use a lidatek le-30 laser jammer. 5 saves since installation. Can not drive without it! |

I think it is, the same law that enables the use of radar detectors also goes against jammers, something like you can recieve but not alter the transmission.

Is it legal to use a laser jammer?
The lidatek jams for 5 seconds, allowing time to slow down, then shuts off so the assclown can get a speed reading. |

Laser Jammers are not legal anywhere in Canada, I just assumed it was the same in the states. I still run one. It plugs into and works with my Passport 8500.
