Oh, wow, you saved a whole 17 cents on the design by eliminating those eight extra resistors. Your manager must be so ******* proud of you- I'm certain that you'll receive a cheaply-copied Certificate of Excellence in a handsome plastic frame (and absolutely no financial compensation) for that.

I mean, who would actually want to buy a switch that lets you actually use ALL of the ports on it, rather than just (.5n+1) of them?

seriously, the new google maps is awful. for one it barely ever loads up, so I'm forced to use mapquest or bing maps.

for second, it's not an improvement. the UI is confusing at best, there's no need for full screen, and it's really hard to actually utilize the tools.

you used to be able to right click anywhere on a map and add a location to get directions from, that's no longer the case. Now you have to first click "directions" then "set home location", then click on the map. It's more steps and it's not inherent.

When you finally do create your destination points, the directions float on top of the map and only show the main route name. You have two choices: show all steps and preview steps.

When you click show all steps, it actually loads a new window with the map resized smaller than before and the steps listed on the left as it used to be. The map on the "show all steps" mode cannot be manipulated like before.

In preview steps mode, it shows a street view shot of the road at each direction point. it's pointless and stupid.

When someone goes to google maps to look up directions, as the intent of these maps, the new google maps is a complete failure. I used to always praise how great google maps was, but this new google+ integrated interface that actually makes the application harder to use and removes features and the purpose of the application--It makes me hate it with a passion. I'm tired of all the google+ integration crap. No one likes google+, no one wants it, stop forcing it.

That's really the thing. Having tools and toolbars slide in and out looks kind of cool, but it not easy to use. If I want the bar on the side to collapse, I'll hit the little button to make it collapse.

Controls that used to be all in the same place are now spread out all over.

I still haven't found the zoom slider, if it even still exists.

Yep. I hate all this new Google ****. Fortunately you can easily revert back to the old maps, at least for now.

It took a long time to figure out how to revert back to my old youtube account, instead of the google+ account that was make automatically for me because I had a gmail acccount. **** this ****. Now I have to choose which google account to view youtube as whenever I go onto youtube. **** this ****. **** it.

I used to love google. Simple start page that loads quickly, and has only what I would ever want right there, like 9 words max on the page. Now it's all sort of invasive. I hate it.

I have always enjoyed Bing maps' bird's eye view. that's so neat, it's scary.

I guess I am getting old. I miss the good ol' times, like simple searching on the internet.

I totally clicked the revert back button and went back to classic mode and i was happy and used it.


but then I actually needed to use the maps for directions/travel time for a trip im taking on saturday. I didn't even realize it but it opened back up in the new "improved" mode.

But here's a ******* kicker, along with my travel directions, it suggested I fly from Dulles to Philly using JetBlue! **** you google. **** you.

The worst bit of 'new' google maps for me is the stupid colour schemes you guys insist on using.

Old Google maps had Motorways (Highways) as Blue as per correct in the UK. (All physical motorway signs are also blue - continuity bitch!. Similarly A roads are green and on a map they're....green, I digress, old Google maps still got that bit wrong.

New Google maps just has Orange everywhere, making motorways much more difficult to differentiate.

Why?

I know right? I dont even use my gmail, but they auto accoicated EVERYTHING with it, so now I have my old youtube acct, like the active one that i use. If I try to use another good service it signs me out of youtube
Also, you one time view the regular youtube on the phone, aparently it will never load the mobile site again in its life

I dont use my @gmail.com for yt, but what's annoying is when I have a private video and try to add people/groups/emails to allow access, since the video is not posted on my google+ account, it won't share the access to those on my contact list I allow.

they also ruined the comments when they changed it to allow google+ comments outside of yt in a way that really annoyed me: All the old comments that were replies to others got unassociated and just merged, but the link to "view reply from" is still there, but when you click it, it just opens a new window of the same page. it doesn't show the reply to post.

All the new comments and replies work, but any older comments/replies got ruined.

for example:



this comment is in reply to jerubaal101. if you click the link it only opens a new window of the same page without showing the comment. before the change, you could click that link and the comment would appear above. So any old "converstations" within comments are gone. dead. The only way I could ever find jerubaal101's comment is if i click "show more comments" and scroll and scroll until I can find it.

stupid as ****. Shocked google will let that one go. Like, why leave the link? it doesn't work, so might as well just remove it. Makes me think that the yt comments change was not tested, maybe Obama is running google now?
