^ I love those music video mashups. There's some amazingly good Beatles stuff floating around. ^

These images are insufficiently random.

Correct and correct. After a bit more googling, I found that this issue was covered under a hush-hush extended warranty. If the computer were a car, there would be a mass recall, but it's a computer so they only fix it if the computer breaks before the warranty period ends...MacBook Pro: Distorted video or no video issues

I cleaned it, baked it, reapplied Arctic Silver 5, and am replying on it as we speak. So far, so good, but thinking I will still end up buying a Mid-2012 MBP 15" for my primary computer. The Mid-2012 can be upgraded close to the same specs as the new retina display (i7 quad core, 16gb 1600Mhz, 512MB gpu), and can actually be serviced. That new retina style of not being able to service the computer is crap.

You'd like Mashwork Orange, they do live mashups which are quite good.

Interesting.

I've kind of gotten into these:

Also, a cat on an audio processor:

Yes, I'm aware that it's a poor-quality photoshop job. This is an ad from the manufacturer: http://wheatstone.com/index.php/proc...-in-on-the-air

I now regret that decision immensely.

In the past three minutes I have seen many things which I wish could be un-seen, read a few things that make me wonder if maybe the Islamic State folks don't have a good point after all and that we westerners really do deserve to be wiped off the map, and finally came across the following image which, while I am slightly annoyed by its self-righteous and condescending "check-your-privilege" tone, still made me laugh:

Don't be deliberately obstinate. They are of square cross section but turned to a a conical point at each end.

it's a lot like those wood craft store pen blanks. they start out square but you hit them with a lathe to make them less square. I suppose you could leave the center portion square so they are like the above toothpicks.

Technically, you don't hit them with a lathe, but put them on a mandrel, place said mandrel in the lathe and hit them with various turning tools.

Obligitory pen pic (made this for the wife a couple years back):

Good to see mt.netters never missing an opportunity to be pedantic and superior.
