I used to fantasize about pulling this kind of stunt when I was a kid:

True story:

I had no idea South Park was still around.

What's it been, 15 years since Spirit of Christmas was first leaked? Gotta be around that- I well remember downloading it from Usenet a piece at a time onto the VAX at college, carrying a huge pile of floppy disks back and forth to the computer center over several consecutive evenings to offload it via one of the few PS/2 machines surrounded by an ocean of VT220s, and then tediously re-assembling it into a single AVI file on my 486.

I'm having a bit of a "you kids today don't know what computing used to be like..." moment here.

I wonder if I still have that file somewhere...

(searching)

Yep, there it is; SOC.AVI. 54.5 megs, dated August 8, 1996. So, 19 years. Man, I can't believe I still have that. I didn't even realize that folder still existed on my hard drive- I guess I've maintained pretty good backup discipline over the past few decades. Some real classic **** in there. Lot of videos that I don't have the right codec to play anymore...

Actually, I can't believe I even kept it. Back then, 54.5 megs would have been a significant chunk of my primary hard drive. I must have offloaded it to an MO cartridge or something.

Hang on, I'm gonna upload something to YouTube...

That was the very first "real" video I ever watched on a PC. (eg: excluding purely CG stuff like Amiga megademos). The file is dated September 10, 1995. It took 7 seconds to upload just now, and I can't even remember how many days it took to download 20 years ago.

Memories...

This must have been expensive to produce.

Anyway, the whole Trip Tease album is realllly awesome for some chill-drinking-down-tempo-lounge stuff. There really isn't anything like it to this day.

This is one of my favourites from my yute. Great (for the time) computer animation and music by Jan Hammer. I even bought the laser disk. God, I'm old.

No, it was on the local news here right after it happened, complete with the interview and phone recording from the guy that is supposedly suffering from the 'trauma' (lawsuit pending no doubt).

That's 1200 lumens in my hand.

New toy... BudgetLightForum.com group buy of custom single-emitter/single 18650 flashlight. It's exactly as long as a regular Expo dry-erase marker and about 50% thicker. $25!!!

My cel-phone cannot provide a representation of what this thing will do, but I had it out tonight in my neighborhood park. It has no problem completely illuminating an area the size of a football field.

Link to the group buy with special code... just read:
Code now public! BLF A6 FET+7135 Light. Short 18350 tubes and Unanodized Lights Available | BudgetLightForum.com

You need a charger and batteries... buy name brand LG/Panasonic/Samsung from a known US dealer... here's what I bought plus the Nitecore charger in the "frequently bought together" box:
Amazon.com: Panasonic NCR18650PF 3.6V "2900mAh" Rechargeable Li-Ion Batteries (2-Pack): Electronics Amazon.com: Panasonic NCR18650PF 3.6V "2900mAh" Rechargeable Li-Ion Batteries (2-Pack): Electronics

Serious question:

RC Airplanes have been around for decades. They have, for most of their life, been viewed as the preserve of nerds. Why have they suddenly become cool?
