Obviously the bikes go harder, but the dude did set the production car lap record. If we're thinking relative to four wheels, its a solid run!

Serious question for my German-speaking friends.

How can it be klassik if it's neu, and how can it have weniger süß if it's klassik?

I mean, the German language sometimes confuses me, but this is just downright mind-bending.

(Also, you guys do realize that Fanta is an American soda, right? And, not to put too fine a point on it, but we invented this scheisse in 1940, while you ******** were busy doing unpleasant things to Poland, so I'm pretty certain this counts as cultural appropriation, and that a safe space is owed. Preferably one with Schüttinger.)

I don't believe it requires being "old" in order to be klassik. Perhaps it is merely the name "fanta" which is considered klassik?

Perhaps you're overthinking it?

What happened in Germany in the 40's?

EDIT: Why would you bring up something so terrible? I can't handle the real world. I'm going to my safe space - under that rock over there. I'll be back out when I've fully dehydrated myself from crying in order to get a bottle of Fiji water.

Corvettes...

Does anyone here remember when Corvettes were cool, simple cars?

I do. And yet it's been a while since I've been in the presence of a third-gen 'Vette in person. Came across this one in East Harlem a few weeks ago.

I couldn't get over how big this thing was. My mind kept saying "wait, this is a two-seat car whose engine is only four cylinders deep from front to back. Why is it so much longer than a Miata / S2K / Solstice?

My anti-Corvette bias continues unabated. Yes, I get it, C7s are amazingly fast. So are 50cal bullets. I wouldn't want to ride either one.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, I also saw this a few days ago:

So that's ok.

And, of course, this Con_Ed van, which has weird **** dangling from the front fascia:

This has been around for a while, so most may have seen it already, but for those who have not:

It's a bit sweeter than poo, and the texture is much more consistent. Rather tasty, actually. If you find yourself in the northern Cincinnati metro area, you can get it at Jungle Jim's supermarket.

Often, it is stuffed with cream or mashed fruit, and chilled.

Choking to death on it is a sufficiently large problem, particularly among the elderly, that there are PSAs reminding old Japanese people to cut their mochi into small pieces and chew it thoroughly.

Which is why you can buy this thing made by Shin-ei, which attaches to your vacuum cleaner:

And is intended for the specific purpose of de-mochifying grampa:

It appears some kid without a license took his parents' car while they were away and smashed into a parked car. This was him trying to hide the car. It looks like he totally destroyed the front right corner in the hit and run and the wheel is just flopping around.

I assume those are some sort of sensor. Being ConEd, I would guess that they are sniffing out gas leaks. It would be interesting to have more info.
