I think we still have IE8 (maybe 7) at work as well to run our old version of Oracle. Thankfully, we also have Chrome for internet stuff.

We have IE9 in a few places -- ShoreTel Director, for instance, gets very screwy if you load it in anything more recent. The ShoreTel Director is among the worst admin software I've had to deal with.

Same deal here. I have a couple of machines running fairly elderly versions of common software (including one VM which I've spoken about previously running XP) for the sole purpose of communicating with old hardware running old embedded microcontrollers.

This specific machine runs my satellite receivers, uplinks, and dish controllers.

we upgraded to IE11 here from IE8, but one random app in SharePoint stopped working, so instead of forcing the browser back to "IE = 8" in meta, they are forcing the they entire sharepoint system back to IE8, so all the new HTML5/CCS3 development we've been doing for the last year is now broken. Way to go guys!

I have a couple of these, one talks to the HVAC PLC. Its a real ************ as it requires Java 5u11. NO OTHER VERSION OF JAVA WILL WORK.

Florida!

Witnesses say truck driver never hit brakes; his wife was naked in cab

LAWTEY, Fla. - State troopers on Wednesday arrested the driver of an 18-wheeler that struck a stopped Bradford County school bus on U.S. 301 last September.

As a result of the Florida Highway Patrol investigation, Shannon Ford was charged with four counts of reckless driving resulting in serious bodily injuries. Ford was arrested at his home in Putnam County, booked into jail and ordered held on a $2 million bond.

Troopers said Ford was driving the log-hauling big rig about 2:45 p.m. Sept. 29 when it struck the school bus that was slowing to drop off students at a stop on 301 at NW 183rd Street, just south of Lawtey. According to the FHP, the bus had its flashing yellow lights and stop arm extended when it was struck from behind.
The school bus was carrying 15 students from Starke Elementary School at the time. Seven of the 15 Starke Elementary students on board along with the bus driver, 37-year-old Jennifer Lynn Swanson, of Starke, were injured and taken to various hospitals. Authorities said the most serious injury among the children was a leg injury.
Shannon Ford (pictured from June 2014 arrest), and his passenger, his 34-year-old wife Sherry Ford, were both seriously injured in the crash and taken to UF Health Shands in Gainesville.

The FHP and Bradford County deputies said the passenger was naked at the time of the crash.
Florida Division of Motor Vehicles records show Shannon Ford's license was suspended in 2011 when his insurance was canceled, then suspended again in 2013 for failure to pay a fine.

Shannon Ford has had five driving violations since 2007, two for driving with a suspended license, two for speeding, one for operating a motor vehicle in unsafe condition and once for a tag violation.

Shannon Ford also has numerous arrests in Putnam County, including grand theft, domestic battery, burglary, theft, trespassing and, most recently, for shoplifting.
The rig, which is owned by Mo's Trucking in Palatka, was stopped earlier Monday in Nassau County for two minor inspection violations.
According to Bradford County Sheriff Gordon Smith, the wife was given a towel from troopers to cover up when she exited the cab in front of the children.

So I've been driving around with these 5g whiskey barrels in the back of my car for the last couple days and frankly, my car smells ******* amazing.

Now that my car has been sitting in the parking lot in the hot sun all afternoon I realize there is no way I'm going to be able to convince any cop on the planet that I haven't been drinking

It’s late summer in New York City, and the giant dead rats are in full bloom. And, as noted by a Bowery Boogie tipster, some person was thoughtful enough to collect a few particularly impressive specimens into a bouquet for everyone passing by the Lower East Side’s Baruch Houses — and now, this blog — to enjoy. Such a display certainly isn’t something you see every day, but you can now look for it in your mind each time you go to sleep for (at least) the next few months.

i used something similar to the heat wrap on my exhaust once, it took a LOT of effort to get the pieces apart again.

Permatex Muffler and Tailpipe Bandage 80332: Advance Auto Parts

This epoxy-impregnated fiberglass bandage chemically welds mufflers and tailpipes, permanently repairs holes and leaks in exhaust systems and seals out poisonous fumes to temperatures of 800°F (426°C).
