I'm talking specifically about the car I linked to -- he's asking $500 for it on one of the BMW forums. Supposedly straight body with no rust. 1989 325i. Timing belt jumped and bent valves.
So I was supposing I might be able to get it home for $400-450, plus the $400 for the eBay head I linked to. I know that typically E30's don't come along this cheaply.

Came across a picture of a "cracked" (aka fissured, furrowed or scrotal) tongue earlier. Weird looking.
FWIW, I do not recommend that you do an image search for "scrotal tongue".

i was kinda laughing at the fact that the driver treated the transmission as a go forward only kind of thing -
running thru 1 or 2 gears then just neutral
kinda makes me wonder if driver doesn't really know how to use a transmission or it's on it's way to death...
So in this training I'm doing, there are two classes. One of the facilitators created a "Victory Goat". Any test or sporting event pitting the classes against one another results in the goat being awarded to the victor, whose challenge it is to one-up the other group by taking the goat to unique and interesting places.
But who needs to do that when there's photoshop?

The black E30 I posted is basically
this:
https://www.revshift.com/shop/turbo-...-1983-1991.php
A cheap T3/ T04E .57 trim from ATP Tial wastegate and BOV, drop in Megasquirt from a dude who sells them on E30Tech, a set of Ford 42lb injectors, Walbro 255 in place of the stock low pressure pump, and an Ebay intercooler kit. Less than 2k invested in all legit parts, and it's plenty fast for a street car.
That would leave you a bunch of money left over to buy nice suspension parts, replace every piece of rubber under the car (required; it's all trash by now), a shifter (also trash by now; I could put my first E30 in first then touch both sides of the trans tunnel with the shift **** before I machined all new bushings for it), a Goetz head gasket and ARP head studs, and a nice clutch.
Actually, you should just keep your Miata, lol.
But this E30 might be out. Wasted the last 24 hours messaging with this dude trying to arrange a time to see the car only to have him send this message this morning:
I'm thinkin i'm gonna keep it.
