I can understand not having doors, fenders, a hood, etc. I drove my 90 like that for a few days while painting same.

But chopping off the seatbelt mounts? In what universe does that seem like a good idea?

I'd love to buy one of those shirts if you'll share where.

Some of you guys who attended Miatas at the Lake will know this guy. He's almost finished building his '29 Model A on that '32 frame. Pics are posted in reverse order.

It was a good weekend.

Spotted in Wilmington, NC. Which one of you is going to admit to building it?
Over the first major bump and that sub frame will buckle. They are putting a lot of trust in the ppf brace. And I bet that thing is hugely tail happy with no weight back there.

Unless you're envisioning the doors contributing significantly to the ability of the chassis to resist collapse, I'm having a hard time seeing how that car would be significantly weaker than stock.

Now, comparing the rear tires to the fronts...

I have contemplated what it would take to make a ghetto Atom/Exocet/Locost type thing. The idea would be to make a hybrid tube frame; cut away every part of the chassis that wasn't worth its weight and then add the tube frame part. The added tubes might look like a roll cage, and they should provide rollover protection, but if you just slap in a SM cage then you missed the point.

The one shown above needs a lot more surgery in the front, as in everything forward of the sway bar brackets needs to go. The radiator can be moved rearward, maybe all the way to the rear of the car.

This one is closer but still misses the mark.

The idea would be to invest a minimum of money and time.
