It's the door-opening mechanism on a Bombardier Shoreliner railroad car, the type used on the non-electric sections of the Metro North lines (those which are hauled by Diesel locomotives, owing to their operation beyond the areas which are electrified by pantograph line or third-rail.)

So most of the middle area is an overlap zone. I put the three images on separate layers and did a gradient mask to blend the edges where they overlap, resulting in the sort of intermittent ghosting across the two bands in the middle.
Couldn't come up with a better way of doing it easily.
