Another Mustang death. Stop the killing, please.

full story and video

MOTHER DEAD, CHILD INJURED IN BAYSHORE BLVD. CRASH; 3 ARRESTED

The drivers were racing when they struck the 24-year-old woman and her toddler daughter, police are saying.

Just before noon, Wednesday, Jessica Reisinger, 24, of Jeromesville, Ohio, pushing her 21-month-old daughter Lillia Raubenolt's stroller across the roadway was struck by a car and killed.

The child was in critical condition late Wednesday afternoon.

Arrested were Cameron Coyle Herrin, 18, Tristan Christopher Herrin, 20, and a 17-year-old. The Herrin brothers bonded out of jail Wednesday night.

Investigators say a black 2018 Mustang driven by Cameron Coyle Herrin, 18, of Tampa, was in the outside lane, closest to the sidewalk, struck the victims. A gold-colored Nissan, driven by the 17-year-old boy, came to a stop next to the Mustang.

Police questioned both drivers at the scene of the wreck for hours.

Later, Tampa police announced Herrin and the other driver were arrested and charged with street racing, vehicular homicide, and reckless driving resulting in serious bodily injury. Herrin's passenger, Tristan Christopher Herrin, 20, of Tampa, was charged with racing.

Police say Tristan Herrin is being charged under Florida Statute 316.191(2), which says that it is illegal for a driver to engage in racing and that it is also illegal to "Knowingly ride as a passenger in any such race, competition, contest, test, or exhibition."

---

From the pictures on the news it was a 2018 5.0 Mustang.

It is parental malpractice to give an 18 year old a V8 muscle car.

When will we finally pass common-sense Mustang laws?

My neighbor has a phonograph and a record collection. It's pretty cool how much volume can be generated with zero electricity.

But also bad! I'm fighting feedback from my subwoofer into my turntable. It doesn't take much.

I went to ISC Racing yesterday. They've got some interesting toys in their closet.

Daughter decided to test her theory of how "how hard do you need to hit a beer bottle on concrete before it breaks"... and her punishment is beach cleanup all week. Lucky for her, there is no shortage of plastic detritus that washes up on our west-facing beach... doesn't take her long to fill out a 5-gallon bucket. I went out to survey her work and she had this in the bucket.

It's a NOAA Radiosonde, first time we found anything like this... pretty cool.

Re-config of the HVAC system at Sears complete. I think this may actually be working.

Literally every single part of the musculoskeletal portion my body which is capable of registering pain is doing so right now. And it feels like success.

I can hardly be bothered to put in hard work like JoeP on a day like today.

Instead I've been giving thanks to those who have worked very hard before me in an honest form of pure and simple relaxation. Currently letting some very good mid michigan beef get to temperature on the smokey Jo.
