There is a small chain of restaurants in North Carolina called Biscuit Head. They serve amazingly good food. Most of it is biscuit-themed, but they do crazy **** like "Here's a steak tartar, with shaved truffles bathed in a mornay sauce, with asparagus and cremini mushrooms, and it just happens to be on a biscuit."

Yes, it's a tad hipster. But the prices are reasonable and the food quality really is quite good.

The whole place is also cat-themed. Example, the placard that you take with you and set on your table after ordering (you get to choose your cat.):

Joe: I always look for places like that when we travel, either chains or private.
This one also started in NC and is presently expanding:

The Dude... shilling for a beer commercial.

I do not abide.

Also, WTF happened to Superbowl ads not airing until, you know... the Superbowl. This used to be a big deal for us in the TV biz.

EDIT: I had to google who Sarah Jessica Parker was. Does someone in marketingland think that there is significant audience crossover between Sex & The City and The Big Lebowski? I'd have loved to have been a fly on the wall at the pitch meeting where that idea was proposed.

Seems just for nostalgia purposes. (I remember both of those happened!)

The whole premise of the ad is that it would be shocking for either character to order a shitty beer. at least bridges still looks human.

You might have a touch more insight, I'm suspecting he received 7 figures to appear in that terrible ad. No idea why SJP was in it either.

Shilling for the European equivalent of Budweiser is very un-dude.

No idea about actor compensation at that level. But yeah, The Dude doesn't strike me as the type who'd shill for a beer company. I'm not even sure if he'd shill for Kahlúa. It diminishes the character. Can't speak to whatshername from S&tC.
