Since I think the bible is written by humans with good imaginations, i'm not inclined to raise my kids based on its words--but that's another thread.
I think there is a fine line in discipline with The Hand. You've crossed it when it leaves a lasting scar either physically or emotionally. A few spankings or some arm grabbing in the mall is pretty typical today or when I was a kid. lashings with a belt until you break your kids will is totally unnecessary.
The thing is this... chances are if you raised your kids well, you likely wont need to resort to that belt. And if they're defective children and you feel that's the only way to control them, it probably wont work anyway and it wont teach them anything productive either.
And if your father peed on your naked *** before he whipped you with his belt, then you'll just come on a forum and brag about how big and smokey your truck is.

Kid makes a break for it while being interviewed by a cop regarding a series of candy thefts (?!). Ends up jumping from roof to roof while trying to escape. Hilarity ensues.

Rather unusually, a covered wagon rolled up in front of our building yesterday morning (Hudson St in downtown Manhattan) and two people dressed in period costume started handing out coffee.

in me actually worked, and made me a well rounded individual.
Also, tell me whats the deal with people living well below the poverty line with 10 ******* kids, especially in the Mexican culture? Significant portion of their children seem just as well behaved in public..
That's just my opinion though.

No pics found yet but I had to share:
On the trackday at Sebring on October 1-2 when I was there with NASA they had a big clubroadster get together at the track both days. The clubroadster guys got to do a paced parade lap during the lunch break each day. I was just reading about the event on the NASA-FL forum and apparently one of the clubroadster guys spun off the track into the grass at turn 10 during the parade lap and got stuck out there while everybody else from the CR group paraded by.
Apparently they really believe that slammed cars with stretched tires corner well.
I found it briefly referenced here on the local Miata site:http://www.tampabaymiatas.net/forum/...&hilit=sebring

Oddly, I'm inclined to agree with you on a few of your points, but I'd also like to point out that how I see children acting in public these days.. My father would've beat the **** out of me had I acted in the deplorable fashion which seems acceptable these days. The parenting has completely failed generations since I was a child and I truly believe it will be a significant contribution to the severe downfall of society in general. When I was younger my public actions were NEVER anything remotely like kids I see these days, and if they were my father would have seriously beat my ******* ***. Would like to think his disciplinary tactics of putting the fear of god him

My mom told me something one time and I backed talked her and without even hesitating she slapped the **** out of me. Last time I back talked her.
Its made me a better person, I wish more parents whipped their kids.
