My 1st mod was a roll bar in mine. Now I want to upgrade from the Autopower Street bar to something taller!

Anyone have a used roll bar F/S?

Tall people fit just fine in Miatas. There is plenty of room in the cockpit, you just need to find it. Lowered steering column, modified drag-racing seat, Autopower rollbar, SFI padding/leather cover.
I'm 6'4" and 250lbs... enough said. https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/sho...8&postcount=30 Pic: https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/att...1&d=1204760156 |
Sam you are right about having room in the miata. I am 6'5 and for some reason I feel like I have more room in the miata than my honda accord. My knees always hit the dash in the accord, where as the miata fits 'snug'. I do need to get a roll bar though, reason #1237 sold me.

Just look at the pics from the Hard Dog website. They're pretty convincing.

the roll bar is nice and all, but you'll still grind your face off.

I see Shiv Pathak's "Frankenstein" in the above photos; Shiv walked away after his "guest" driver rolled Shiv's car at approx 80 mph. But...Shiv had some hellacious lacerations on his head and migraines for months.
I don't see MarkP's '99 in the above photos. Bethany Garage had the photo of Mark's car on the website for years. Mark told me the crash was a low-speed rollover but he was quite happy to crawl out from underneath. I've only rolled one vehicle in my life (fell asleep returning home on a long road trip just three miles or so from home) and have absolutely no desire to do so again; I remember watching the ground slide by my face inches away at a too-high rate of speed. For years I've have a rollbar in my Miata (with SFI padding). Remember, keep the shiny side up. Barry |

When's the next time you WILL drive your car....? I suggest addressing those two issues before worrying about a cage :giggle: |

I cant even see your shoulders. I'd need to sit at least 2 inches lower to be totally safe, and thats going to make getting in and out of the car even more difficult for me. What I will do is just get the HT bar so its further back, and just incline the seat up a bit. |
