kotomile 04-13-2009 11:50 PM

Wow..

That vest looked mighty thin, what were they thinking?

Here's some guys "testing" their IBAs.

96rdstr 04-14-2009 10:06 AM

Koto that is a great vid!

Machismo 04-14-2009 10:45 AM

I love how he shot for the heart! Atleast shoot in a non lethal area.... ;)

y8s 04-14-2009 11:20 AM

and people say there is too much gun control.

Darwinism!!! Just can't deny it anymore.

Apparently they didn't think about shooting the vest without wearing it first to see if it works. He should have aimed about a foot higher and to the left.

I thought that dude was pretty BADASS!!!111!!

I think I bought my JDM drfitz turbo setup off his big ass brother.

Hooaah!

KMag 04-14-2009 04:32 PM

I like the other guy who punches him in the gut after they shoot him. Everyone is having a good time except the guy who got shot.

I'm wondering if anyone went to jail over it? I kinda doubt it.

What was the result, I don't know If it was real or not?? I don't think you would be walking around..... I think its FAKE no slide action or recoil

KMag 04-14-2009 09:05 PM

You might be right. Maybe the slug to the stomach is what started the fake blood flow. I looked at it couple of time, and I was not sure if the 9mm had slide action or not. But certainly does not in the video. I would guess that if you took a hit from a 9mm that close, that it would knock you back pretty good too, and that does not happen.

Maybe they were not a stupid as I thought. They spoofed me.

You could also stop a heart that way. Happens in lacrosse.

gospeed81 04-14-2009 11:24 PM

After watching it again it's definitely not real...also notice he didn't drop his smoke.

NA6C-Guy 04-14-2009 11:40 PM

I don't think its fake. That looks like a pretty convincing wound and blood, and you can see the slide kick back about a 1/2 second before the shot, since the audio is slightly laggy. A bullet impact there could have easily stopped the heart, but I don't think that is a sure thing, or else what would be the point of a bullet proof vest if you still die from impact forces after being hit in the chest (though yes I realize this vest failed). Still stupid, Yes.

gospeed81 04-14-2009 11:53 PM

look again, the shooter's finger stayed on the frame, as trained when not ready to fire, and never came off. This means he didn't hit the trigger, and it's fake.

btw, "Hook em horns"? That's right, these ------s are from t.u. in Austin.

No, you look again. He slides his finger into the trigger guard to fire then slips it back out onto the frame after the shot, and you can clearly see the slide kick if you WATCH... looks like a fire to me. But lets make it into a conspiracy fake video. The shot really came from the grassy knoll fired by R Kelly.

But yes, what a bunch of douche hats, Hook em Horns is for steers and queers.

gospeed81 04-15-2009 12:05 AM

yeah, I see what you're talking about, but that's pretty damn quick to reindex and still be accurate. If you were about to put a slug into your skinny buddy you would spend a little more time inside the trigger guard, and not lay down a quickie tap.

Besides, the whole thing seems very scripted.

I can see it being real, but my money is it's fake.

EDIT: btw, what about the lack of muzzle flash?

NA6C-Guy 04-15-2009 12:08 AM

I just can't imagine going through the trouble to make the video. It does look scripted though. The wound and blood still sell me though. That (from what I can see on a grainy video) looks like a real wound and blood. And about the friend taking more time in the guard instead of a tap... look at what they are doing in the first place... Its pretty clear they aren't running on all of their brain cells and either drank or smoked them away.

gospeed81 04-15-2009 12:17 AM

Yeah, the grainy video does suck, hard to see the wound. I do see the slide cycle more now, but I don't see much bruising around the wound.

Good grief if it's real, I mean, who reaaally decides to do this shit. And it looks like they weren't even drinking!

NA6C-Guy 04-15-2009 12:41 AM

I do some stupid stuff, but never have I been so bored that I have decided to put on a vest and let someone shoot me. I would never want to look down the barrel of a gun with our without a vest, or with any amount of protection for that matter.

Milton Tucker 04-15-2009 01:25 AM

My money is on it being real. I suspect the wound is not from the bullet penetrating the body armor, but from the intense interaction between the body armor, and the skin.
I once saw a video put out by Second Chance body armor, the owner of the company would shoot himself with a 44 magnum. before he did this, he would stick a thin phone book between the vest, and his skin. He stated the book prevented the vest from fusing to his skin.

KOTO, you have any idea where the video you posted was made? looks like FOB Diamondback

NA6C-Guy 04-15-2009 01:40 AM

But that is a very round and clean wound for just a skin breaking from impact on the vest. I would imagine that would look much like a bruise from a paintball impact on the skin. But who knows, I am not a ballistics expert and have no idea, just guesses.

turbobluemiata 04-15-2009 02:00 AM

I still say fake, He would be on the ground IMO he barely flinched :hustler:

UrbanSoot 04-15-2009 02:22 AM

you can brake a leg and still run without any pain or even knowing you broke your leg. bullet had enough travel distance to become very very fast and penetrate the skin at just a bit lower speed (if vest failed, it wont slow down THAT much) and its also possible to be at that of an angle not to brake any bones and for bruises to appear in about 5 minutes after impact.
