reputable freight shipping company
Considering getting a jdm bumper(not for a miata) from new zealand. Can
anyone recommend a good freight company? The cheaper the better as long as the parts get here. Also I will probably get it shipped by sea because it is cheaper. |
Have you considered using the post office?
I'm quite serious. For things which are awkward yet lightweight, they can often be a viable option. I've no idea what the post rules are in NZ for something like a bumper, but here in the US you could literally just slap a label and a stamp on it. |
checked out there website. Looks like New Zealand post is the way to go.

A mazda familia gtx bumper will fit on an escort with mecury tracer healights. Here is a familia with the bumper I am after.

Couldn't you achieve the same thing by using a sawzall to cut some rectangular holes into a standard bumper?
|
The stock escort bumper has a slight angle below the mounting point this bumper does not. Plus I have no experience with fiberglass and I would rather have an oem bumper.
|
Ah. Well, there's just no compensating for a slight angle below the mounting point. Gotta go JDM to get that.
|
Not saying it couldn't be done but it is not what I want and it wouldn't look good if I did the fiberglass work myself. There quite a bit more work than just cutting holes into a escort bumper to make it look right.
