RESOLVING HOST BULLSHIT!

I've watched 20 YT videos and followed the instructions from 10 different websites and browed the Mircrosoft help pages for the last 2 hours. It's fucking infuriating.

Not sure what you're talking about specifically but i'm assuming DNS issue? Try to manually set a DNS server on your computer, either google's DNS (8.8.8.8) or OpenDNS(208.67.222.222)

Yup, that's Step1 in every troubleshooting guide. I just turned off all my security settings and uninstalled Malwarebytes and CCleaner... now directly connected to pure unfiltered WWW mayhem. No more resolving host issue, but I'm sure computer herpes is imminent.

Does this occur in every web browser or just a specific browser? If just a specific browser, any issue browsing in private/incognito mode? For a one-off virus/malware scan, I would recommend hitman pro as well.

Ask your doctor if Zovirax® is right for you.

I thought that giving the computer a week to think about it's choices would fix the problem... nope, still fucked up.

If it comes down to it, how do I completely take this bitch back to it's factory state? Is that even a term?

Define "this bitch."

Laptop? Desktop? Mobile device?

Make & model would help. Serial number or service tag number.

If it's a Dell / HP / etc., then there's almost always an option which can invoke either from within the OS or during POST to mount a hidden partition that contains a factory restore image, and do exactly that.

OS version would help too. If it's W10 there's a built in Reset.

It says it should leave your data alone if you tell it to but I'd back it it up first.

Assuming factory image, does the first set of steps work? You'll lose all your personal data.
