One of my friends just convinced me to get a Chase Sapphire card. They're currently doing a 50,000 bonus points offer, which is $500 cash or $625 when redeemed for travel. Even without the bonus offer, the rewards and benefits are as good or better than most rewards cards out there.

This will get you 5% back on amazon rather than 3%. |

I haven't found a website that really breaks it down what you're getting with each card. There are some "comparo" websites, but they all look like scams.

They also do sign-on bonuses with that 5% store card. It's $40 right now but I'm pretty sure I remember it being $200 around christmas last year. I got the 3% Amazon Visa last year before I knew about the 5% store card... I'm currently waiting to see if they do another $200 sign-on bonus and then I'm switching to the 5% store card.

Isn't that what we are doing with all these cards?

Citi Double Cash for every day use. Costco Amex for Costco related and gas/diesel at other stations. Since that card is going away, we'll replace the Citi with the new Costco Citi when it arrives and the Amex with the Amex Blue. And now I am going to be looking out for that $200 Amazon Store card offer!

If you do a lot of shopping on base, the USAA Cashback Rewards Plus American Express may be a good choice. It offers 5% on everything on base and gas, 2% on off-base groceries, and 1% on everything else. Here's the info on NerdWallet.com (best CC comparison website I've found) https://www.nerdwallet.com/blog/bank-credit-cards/usaa/

^That looks pretty good... The wife is balking at getting more than one or two cards... swapping one usaa card for another and then getting just one more might be the way to go.
