I used to put pennies on the train track but then someone told me it could derail the train and kill everyone. While it seemed like it would still be fun, i had to travel from Toronto via Train to london. The whole way there I was fearing i laced my own track with pennies. Never did it again. :2cents: |

Did Canadian Tire really go to the trouble of printing a certificate for 5 cents?

I've put larger things than pennies on the rails...train didn't care. I've 'stacked' multiple coins on the rails and made some cool looking forms of what was money.
I am currently holding a $10 in my wallet...a rarity for me to have cash. |
Oh yes, Canadian Tire money starts at 5 cents and I have about $18 left in total (other denominations as well)
mmmm rambling words to follow................................. Why are the coins so hard to find after laying them on the tracks. I wanted to show my kids but we couldn't find anything. Scary thought: So if a person welded a ramp on one side or drilled a hole in one side of the tracks and secured a large enough piece of steel would it derail? I mean how hard would it be for terrorists to do that to say 50% of the tracks all in one day and cost us lives and billions of $. Tracks are so easy to access. Imagine derailing a train right next to a factory or building. Seems like a gaping hole that could be easily messed with. Or is it much harder to derail than I am thinking ? In other news Canada is so cool that we have 2 piece coins. I mean who else has interferance fit coins out there? USA can't even afford to color code their bills unlike Canada............... "We have the technology"................ Who has or keeps a stash of cash in there car be it hidden or in the console? I used to keep $5-$20 in my 87 16V GTi behind the steering wheel access panel (before air bags) for emergency. Now I just keep coins in the Miata for car wash etc. |

This is what I currently have with me. I had more last week, but since then I've spent some cash and sold off some coins.
Attachment 188717 I always like to keep $100 bill hidden away for emergency, about $100 in $10's and $20's and a couple hundred hidden in my laptop bag for a rainy day. Not to mention about $20-$30 in singles for coffee in the morning in my car. The coins and silver are only 50% mine and that's after I sell them. I debated buying them from the guy, but I make out better if I sell them for him instead. Roughly $1250 in coins and silver. Topped off with a $2600 deposit check for painting the building. I'll probably hold off cashing it for another week or two. I like to get a jump start on the work before I cash the deposit. As I was typing this $175 just came through PayPal too. :) |
