i lived with that cat for a few years, and visited her once per week when in-town. I went through some ulgy shit that I couldn't get over for a while and that cat was always there to give me something to live for.

dstn2bdoa 06-27-2009 07:37 PM

I hate cats, but if she was there for ya, then may she RIP.

Sorry about your loss.

miatamania 06-27-2009 07:41 PM

*tips glass to the kitty*

Sorry for your loss man.

gospeed81 06-27-2009 08:22 PM

who woulda known hustler had a sensitive side...

sorry to hear man. pets are great while they're here, and they always go too damn soon.

18psi 06-27-2009 09:23 PM

I will drink heavily tonight in her name. This is a good enough cause:D

y8s 06-27-2009 09:38 PM

i had my hand on a fat cat as I read this. it sucks when they go because it makes you realize that even a lazy cat that doesn't do much or make much noise is very important to you.

samnavy 06-27-2009 11:05 PM

Don't have to ask twice to toast a good pussy. CHEERS!

messiahx 06-28-2009 12:31 AM

Sorry to hear hustler. My cat that I had for 20 years (basically since I was born) died a few months ago. Always sucks.

spike 06-29-2009 01:57 PM

Hustler,I will have a drink tonight for your kitty.

BradC 06-29-2009 02:26 PM

Cheers man, pets are held dear...

m2cupcar 06-29-2009 02:35 PM

I almost felt your pain. Our little cat (13yrsold) took a shoe to the gut in the dark. Cats assume humans have night vision too. Thought she was ok that night, but the next morning she didn't show up for breakfast. Found her wedged way up under the bed, pulled her out, sat her down and she couldn't walk. Took her to the vet- ruptured spleen, minutes from bleeding to death internally. So we went for the transfusion to lengthen the "self repair" time and it worked (after a weekend stay in the eclinic).

I raised a few Dogfish 90 IPAs to her Sat. ... that's not sacrilegious is it?

Oscar 06-29-2009 02:49 PM

Spillin' some for the kitty. Cheers

Sorry for your loss. have 3 cats myself... sometimes wanna kill them when they make a mess; but know that I would hate myself if anything happened to the buggers.

Been saving a bottle of shit from my last trip to Amsterdam; gonna toss one back for the little pussy...

Cheers,
Prospero

This is Pikachu

Got her when I was in 7th grade.
She once went crazy and bit the shit out of my arm, my mom took her to the vet for rabies testing assumed she was dead.
Two weeks later the vet calls up asking if we want our cat back.
She's about 10.5 years old

Sorry for your loss.

I too hate cats but; sorry for your loss hustler.

We drank last night and mentioned your cat's name to my friends. After a few weird looks we tosted your cat:D

Although I disagree with Hustler most of the time, it is sad that you lost your cat. I have had my dog over 9 years and she is very much a part of my life, I dread the day that she is too old to get out of her own way but is presently very healthy for her age.

ScottFW 06-30-2009 12:08 AM

I drank a white beer for your white pussycat. Well she's at least partly white.

Christ, how much do those cost down your way? When I was in Detroit I saw some Dogfish Head for sale for absurdly high prices. It's best right at the brewery anyway. ;) As an aside, the Dogfish Head restaurant/brewery locations are amazing in every possible way. If you ever get a chance, get to one. And try the 120 IPA.

Hustler, sorry about the cat. She looks like an interesting little bugger.

hustler 07-01-2009 10:12 PM

thanks kitty/bar crew.

there's one a couple minutes from me. the 120 will put you on your ass.

hey hustly, I'm having a nice 2005 carignane from alexander valley (Roshambo winery). It's pretty tasty. like a fruit pie with spice and buttery crust. a good one to have a few glasses of to mourn your kitty.

In other news, my cat is so sad about your cat that it is crying on my belly.

We rescued an older male cross-eyed Himalayan cat that had been declawed about seven years ago. His owner had gone into a nursing home and the dirtbag neighbors two doors down inherited him and just turned him out. He couldn't climb or fight back and was getting torn up a lot. We took him in. Four months ago he quickly went from a fat kitty to bone skinny. The vet said it was diabetes and would cost $1000 just to get started treating him. I didn't have it to spend. How could I justify it if I did? How could I just let him die, either? I studied on the possible treatments and decided to try to do it myself. I have been giving him insulin shots twice a day and taking blood glucose readings regularly. He went from not being able to walk or hold his head up to being somewhat active and a little less skinny. He's still an old dude, who's been through a lot, but when they depend on you and trust you to take care of them, you can't turn your back. They are part of the family. I've lost a few close cats and dogs through the years. And it is emotionally crushing. There is something about the honesty of the relationship. They don't fake it. And you don't either. It is real when you choose to spend time with each other.

Hustler, my condolences do you. It isn't easy. And it shouldn't be easy. Don't let the hurt keep you from sharing the goodness again soon.
