The SCCA has a referral program. Existing members get a $5 discount for referring new members. New members get a $15 discount in this program.

Hey now, lol.

If there are others here looking to join the SCCA, let these guys know. $15 off your membership is worth a couple minutes effort and I'm sure they will appreciate the helping out and getting the nickel back on their memberships too.

Obviously you are no NEWB from your sig. Just low post count on this forum. Must be the stong and silent type! ;)

Appreciate the help!

Guys, don't even think twice about doing whatever you have to in order to get the Mazdaspeed account. Autocross twice a year is the minimum you need to do. It is so unbelievably worth it! Give them plenty of time between your application and when you get approved, it took them three weeks and I had to place a call, but again, 100% worth it.

What kind of benifits come with scca and Mazdaspeed memberships? I'm still probably too cheap for this.

cueball1 01-08-2010 04:56 PM

The SCCA membership? Who knows. I wanted it to get access to the discounted Mazdaspeed parts through the Mazdaspeed parts program. Hopefully the discount through Mazdaspeed was worth the effort. I'll let you know.

To qualify you have to do a couple qualifying events a year. I figure I'll do a couple autoX. All sorts of racing club memberships can allow you to qualify. ICSCC, NASA, SCCA, etc. We don't have any NASA programs around here and Cascade (ICSCC) only runs wheel to wheel racing, no autoX or time trial. If we had a time trial group around here I would have signed up for that but the options are extremely limited or non-exsistant.

The NW sucks for options besides autoX or wheel to wheel.

I applied 3 times over the course of the last 3 years.. Guess I was too stupid to just call them because I never got a reply.

Uhm.. Anyone wanna hook me up? lol

Nope, just telling them you are going to autox twice a year is the minimum you need to do. They never have verified my account. I haven't dealt with them for a while so I don't know if it is still active or not but for a couple of years it worked fine.

If I had to get some parts a couple of fake drag time slips should work fine.

Damn. Wonder if a few time slips and a car number from my local drag strip would have worked? I'd think you have to join the NHRA for that to work though.

miatauser884 01-09-2010 02:20 PM

I need to join, someone hook me up. Then again I think joining NASA is still cheaper.

cueball1 01-09-2010 02:50 PM

I'd have joined NASA too but they have nothing going in the NW. Wish they did. I'd like to do some TT stuff but there is virtually nothing available in Oregon and Washington for time trials.
