Scott Speed got the boot!!!

I don't know how many of you are into to Formula 1 but American driver Scott Speed got fired yesterday from Squadra Torro Rosso (Red Bull's sister team). Here is the article:

Man I wish we could get an American in F1 with a good ride.

He sucked he never put up good numbers (tied for last in season standings). F1 is the most political, most business oriented and most expensive sport. They need someone who can keep there name in the headlines, im not saying that everytime needs a shumacher, far from it, but they do need guys like Coulthard, Webber or, Räikkönen, to keep the team alive.

Too true.

Scott Speed had sh!tty equipment. He really is a helluva driver, definitely in the ranks of the upper crust F1 drivers. Back when I raced karts, he was finishing up his las season in karting, winning every single race he entered. If you look at his racing resume, its extremely impressive. Its extremely unfortunate of his situation, but with his skills, I hope he stays in the racing world.

^ may be true, but kart != F1.

red bull needs someone who can polish their turd. Dietrich Mateschitz (now worth US2.4B) ain't no fewl..

Scott Speed was a tool, no matter his skills or lack thereof. I'm glad he's gone.

That's a little harsh... I thought he was just a punk at first, but the reality is that he is a very knowledgeable young man who gives his pit excellent feedback regarding the car and is the victim of crappy equipment.

He was humble about being there and conducted himself well in the media frenzy... as for him being no Coulthard... LOL, Coulthard is not doing all that well in the current situation he is in and should be sacked not only for being a tool but for being a lousy driver at this stage of his career. Speed is no Fernando, Kimi, or Louis... but he's better than a number of drivers out there if put in equal cars.

Wow! Look who re-surfaced? Training still treating you OK?

FWIW, I've read where F1 drivers say success is 80% equipment. Speed is pretty tough, he would have done better on a first-string team.

4 Days and a Wakeup left... Have the weekend off. Things are going pretty well. Nursing an injury (shin splints.) but other than that ok... got to do OIS's version of surf PT... The surf in the Bay is not all that intimidating though, the sand pit filled with goose shit was a real pleasure to retire to after the surf PT.
