3rd gen. Former service weapon. My problems were maintenance related. I would have thought a cop would take better care of his sidearm.
The Glock armorer found the damaged parts yesterday that were causing FTF. Plus all the springs were replaced (as well as the mag springs), he did some work to the hammer assembly, and some other things. It fired 3 full mags without drama at the Glock range. It should run like a champ from now on.
I'm going to get my hands on the Glock Armorers' Guide and learn to detail strip and service.

I haven't found anything more comfortable for IWB concealed carry than the Uncle Mike's designed for that purpose, and it's only 10 bucks 
For open belt carry however, I would also recommend something a little more robust, possibly one of the form- fitted type.

I have a Savage 12BVSS accutrigger .223 'varmint rifle', 24X variable zoom scope with a lit mil-dot reticle, and a Harris bipod. That gun shooting Black Hills 55 grain VMAX reloads, will put 10 shots in a 0.8" group at 100 yards. I once put the first and second shot though the same hole. Works great for a relatively cheap rifle.
It is good enough for Texas deer (debatable I know) which are more like dogs compared to the northern variety LOL.
Then there is my totally cheap Maverick 12 ga pump with a 'tactical' barrel and a 'tactical' recoil absorbing stock. Fun to shoot!
I also have one of the coveted Mossberg .22 LR bolt-action sniper training rifles circa post WWII. Great little gun.

I used to have the same rifle, awesome for the money. It shot best with Nosler 55gr ballistic tips loaded on top of a stout charge of Varget and CCI BR2 primers. (.5-.7" groups at 100) In every varmint rifle I load for, the BTs shoot tighter than the Vmax bullets, although the Vmax are slightly more "explosive" on small critters. Just something to try..
If you're going to shoot deer with a .223, I highly recommend instead using the Barnes TSX bullet in the weight suits your barrel twist. (The Savage should be 1:9)

The high speed videos on the Barnes site are very cool. The .308 gelatin video at the bottom of the page is awesome. You can see the bullet spin pattern in the gelatin as the bullet goes through.

For small of the back I like the neoprene uncle mikes. I think leather would make me sweat too much and isn't as thin. Plastic is too rigid and the edges would probably hurt like hell when I sit down. The only downside I can see to the Mike's is that it stretches a bit over time and the material will wear out fairly quickly. I predict having to replace it once a year or so.

no offense taken. the uncle mike's is cheap, but I haven't found any that are really more comfortable for me yet. I can't carry on my hip because I'm too bony. Can't carry in the front because my dick takes up all that space.

Most of the time it's a XD40 3" in Milt Sparks http://www.miltsparks.com/ leather and a Wilderness http://www.thewilderness.com/ triple stitched belt. Having a good stiff belt is about as important as a good sturdy holster. I started out carrying in a Bladetech http://www.blade-tech.com/home.php kydex holster but it wasn't stable enough so I switched to a Comp-Tac http://www.comp-tac.com/ . That was nicer since it had a wider footprint but the kydex was wearing through all my pants...thus leather.
Good horse leather like my Milt Sparks is pretty thin. Of course it sucks to spend 80-100 bucks on a holster and not like it. Now I found out I like Milt Sparks I've got several for a couple of guns.

How are your gun shows over in FL... in TX they really ******* suck these days. Most of the time the prices are the same as any random gun shop within 100 miles. Why pay entrance just to get the same old deals?
I remember the good old days when they would haggle and give you a good deal at the shows, now it's just a regular working day with the same rules as when they are in their own shop.
