Singapore Grand Prix

Anybody keeping up with it? I am watching a practice run at the moment.

hustler 09-26-2009 07:48 AM

of course I'm keeping up with it.

lordrigamus 09-26-2009 12:56 PM

I watched qualifying this morning. I don't track my car at all but I loosely follow GP and LeMons.Singapore is a wild looking track.

mazda/nissan 09-26-2009 01:03 PM

It has been a while since I watched a race, and had no idea that the Renaults had mad it back into the spot light. Kind of disappointing that BMW won't be a manufacturer team after this season.

lordrigamus 09-26-2009 01:25 PM

Holy shit! They just replayed Scott Sharp's crash in the new P1 Acura at Road Atlanta. He went for a fucking ride!

Irony, I just got done watching Project LMP1 last night where they talked about the making of that car. Pretty sick that they used the same sized rubber all round. However I forgot to turn on Petit, time to start watchin'.

EDIT:

That turn at the end of the straight reminds me a lot of Laguna Seca.

lordrigamus 09-26-2009 01:41 PM

I love Laguna. I raced it quite a bit in Gran Turismo for Playstation2. LOL!

curly 09-26-2009 02:30 PM

Just watched the qualifying. I hope I'm not spoiling it for anyone, but I'm glad Lewis ended up where he is, he's had some bad luck lately.

lordrigamus 09-26-2009 02:36 PM

That crash clinched it for him. There were a couple guys going purple in different sectors behind him just before the red flag.

mazda/nissan 09-26-2009 02:49 PM

I didn't watch this mornings qualifiers, where is he at now? Last night I think he made 8th or somewhere around that. Vettel had 1st last night.

curly 09-26-2009 03:00 PM

Watch it. If you're willing to sit through practice, which although I love F1 I find practice boring, qualifying was well worth the time.

lordrigamus 09-26-2009 03:00 PM

It is good that Hamilton got pole, I would have thought either a Red Bull, Brawn, or Renault car would have taken it.

Also for anyone who heard bout BMW Sauber not coming back next year, apparently they don't feel that the F1 series is helping them advance their cars as much, so they are going to focus more on Le Mans and AMLS supposedly.

Side Note: What is up with Porsche pulling its LMP1 (or were they P2?) cars out of AMLS?

lordrigamus 09-27-2009 02:32 AM

I think Porsche was in P2. Don't know about BMW, but it is nice to see Peugeot in the lineup again.

kotomile 09-27-2009 01:31 PM

I'm going to watch it here in a minute. Hamilton already spoiled it for me on facebook...

I don't care though, the night race is such an awesome show I don't care if I already know the outcome. The only race I'm looking forward to more from a scenery perspective is Abu Dhabi.

mazda/nissan 09-27-2009 01:40 PM

Yeah same here, will be watching it at 2. But first I must watch these fools fight in space on Moonraker
