Skip the Halloween Parade in NYC....
 

Worst halloween ever. Subways were packed. Took about 10 minutes to get topside because there was such a mob. Streets were packed, couldn't see shit of the parade. If you're ever planning on going get there about 2 hours early. Ended up going to a japanese desert bar that was showing japanese horror movies and got some crazy asian cocktails. Picked up my car (OTM) from the garage only to have the attendent rev the shit out of it pulling it out of the spot. I don't think he could really drive a stick. Needless to say I yelled at him and gave no tip. Took 1/2 an hour to get from 18th street to 42nd street and had some fucking asshole bump my rear bumper and drive away. Nice long scrape in the paint, and we were going to put this car up for sale next week... Anyone do anything fun?

I had no idea Japan has deserts, learn something new every day.

Sucks to hear though, NYC is crowded enough day-to-day so I couldn't imagine during something like that.. count me out. What is your OTM?

subaru forester. Doesn't get driven much and we don't need such a big car so we (GF and I) are going to get a Yaris or a Fit for the gas mileage. And about NYC being crowded...I have never seen it like this. I wish I took a picture of the subway platform. A sea of people as far as the eye could see. Japanese have good deserts, and cocktails. Soshu is an interesting alternative to Sake.

That is why I have always preferred house parties instead.

Dressed up as an insane person and tied up would have made NYC a living hell.

I did the halloween parade in the village about 10 years ago. Holy fucking shit. What a freak show. I took the train in and made it right into the thick of it but never found my friends. Afterward I ended up getting wasted spending way too much money at some random bar with some random people and then ended up on a couch in some random bitche's appt. Good times.

I thought the whole point of big events in NY were the ridiculous crowds and fighting traffic! Sounds like the dezzerte bar was the perfect place to be on a halloween night. What could have been better than that?

the hustle and bustle of new york can be fun when it's actually moving. When your in a crowd of thousands of people, pushing you, packed like sardines it looses its charm. The bar was much much nicer. My inner child is an 80 year old man though I think.
