Sleeping in the cold tonight

Might not be as exciting to you guys, but I arranged it so I have full access to my mom's small 1 car garage. It's small but it's better than the great outdoors ;) I just moved boxes today for about 4 hours (wall to wall to wall almost to the ceiling) enough to get the Miata and my KTM in. Planning on moving the the rest of her crap out tomorrow. I gotta do some reading up on drywall (never touched the stuff before) gonna nail some up to finish off the garage walls and install some more overhead lighting. Just picked up one of these bad boys http://www.fastenal.com/web/products...4200010&ucst=t with a 20lb tank to keep me warm when I'm working in here. This means I can start saving for parts and actually working on my car. I consider this car build part 1: finished. :makeout: |
That's always excited to get your first covered area to work on your car. Mine was junior year in college. It was a small, crappy, garage built in 1931, but it was mine! Congrats man. Good lighting makes everything better so don't skimp on that if possible.

Like said above, Congrats! I had a one car garage senior year of high school. Had the heater and air compressor hanging from the rafters along with the hose reel. Use what you've got and be appreciative!

I wish I had a covered place to work. I did at my moms house at one point, but she turned the garage into a sun room... :vash:

I borrowed my dads air compressor for years. When I got that garage I finally bought my own and it was an unbearably loud harbor freight special. I painted my first car in that garage with that compressor blaring until my ears were ringing.
I miss those days. |

I was thinking of getting two of these for another 4 bulbs in there http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?...llow&cId=PDIO1 Should be plenty of light. |
Moto IQ did some fun stuff with the studs for storage
link: http://www.motoiq.com/magazine_artic...ds-useful.aspx Edit: Lights are your best friend. Lowes $30 for a shop light and $5 for some bright bulbs X amount of space makes your life better. I just might hang my extra shop light hang just at hood raised height. |
