so.. we're going to move to a new server next week
probably be down for 24 hours as the DNS propagates to the new owner's host.

For those of us who will not be able to physically survive a 24 hour seperation from MT, how about posting the new IP address so we can work around the DNS outage?

How will this affect the paying accounts? Should I stop the auto PayPal and wait to hear from the new owner?
I sure hope the new owner runs it the same way it is now. This is the only forum I have ever truly enjoyed. |
so, can we have like a "goodbye bashing of Philip"
im a little scared of being banned but can we start a new thread titled bash of philip and have everyone contribute in the cruelest and most unusual ways? if not, i was just kidding!!! |

Whoa! I seriously failed to pick up on the "new owners" part.. I scanned over that and just saw "new host."
Seriously, Phillip, I'm really bummed out that we're losing you. Can you tell us who the new guy is? All I know is what I could find cyber stalking his phone number, he apparently buys forums and sells marketing on them and makes a profit. That's all I know, and he's canadian. I really doubt you'll see much if any change, in fact he seems to want to keep it static. I wasn't going to say anything and just hand my account over so you guys wouldn't even know it had changed hands :hs: I have no idea how much he'll be involved in the day to day operations, probably about a little as I do at this point. |

How much did you sell it for if its not a secret?
Was it offered to anyone on the forum prior to the current bidder? |
Yeah there was no way to come up with the money fast enough.
It sucks that Philip is leaving, but hopefully its run with the same nonchalant tyranny we are all used to |

I'd very much like to quit my job, take an 80% pay cut, and go to work for an airline and walk away from about everything. |

I am just curious how much money was missing that the forum couldnt be bought by the people here. How many people were offered joint ownership?
Phillip, if you dont want to discuss this or I am asking to many questions just say so. I mean I wish I knew the forum was up for sale, I could have probably put up 5 grand of my own money maybe more to contribute. I could see many business opportunities with this place that would retain its current positives and bring on more. And it wasn't "for sale" someone made an offer, and I accepted. I had honestly been close to shutting it down anyway. |
