Software HaX0rZ help

Is it possible to reinstall a program, after it's been already installed on another computer. Copying over all the files and registry, one by one?

I don't have the install disc.

Thanks.

Someone must have the answer

Almost impossible since you don't know which files were installed and which registry entries were inserted/changed.

i did that with an adobe product once. but only because i was able to search for exactly how to do it and what files/registry needed to go where.

You can try, but I wouldn't expect great results.

You can always sail the dangerous seas of the internet and maybe find a less than legitimate version to install, if you really do have a license for it and just lost the install disk (like you have a site license for a business or something that allows you to install it on multiple PCs).

Copy over all the files, try to run it. When it fails, try to figure out what you are missing from the error messages/any logs it may create. But even that is probably a waste of time.

Brain, was there a write up for your specific Adobe product? How did you search for the files, registry locations?

Braineack 10-31-2012 12:47 PM

yep, specific to the product. I think it was photoshop or something that I wanted to move to my laptop.

For most software it will not work, but there is no harm in moving the folder and trying to run it and seeing what it does.

won't work about 90% of the time. Just pirate the program, or access the program via the network (from one computer, go into the other computers file folders and search that program, running it from there should yield a successful start up, which would then implant registry files into your registry) Then copying the files over might work, but I wouldn't bank on it.

Pirate it bro
