I gave up and ordered 4 IDE to SATA converters last night...

i was also going to suggest an add-on IDE controller. but then you have to dick with resources.

Yep, I thought of adding one but decided I didn't want to burn the slot. I'll probably have some extra cards in this system soon and didn't want to deal with the lack of availability.
