I really don't understand the VW crowd. The only good looking VWs out there IMO are the Scirocco and Corrado...but otherwise...why? None of 'em are RWD, and if you want a hot hatch, there are plenty of civics out there that can be made faster for less $$.

Also, rusted hoods are about as dumb as the stretched tire fad.

I don't understand this at all.

That one trunklid with the pinstriping was kind of nice in a car art sort of way. The rest makes no sense at all unless they are acid dipping them.

Why? I ask: Why?

I don't think either of those two club roadster cars are sporting the rusty parts anymore.

I wonder why?

They probably got their *** kicked by all the local greasers for doing something so stupid.

I don't know buddy, but I think the turbo vr6 is the most fun power plant I know of. Its like a FWD GT car...3rd gear went out to 114mph. They also look incredibly good, especially the dusty-mauve Corrado. I still think the rado is one of the top 5 best looking cars on the road. But yeah, the FWD garbage sucks.

look:

this one is rwd:

oh, and now people are taking 3.6l passat motors, boring them to 3.9 or 4.0, sticking turbo's on them, then stuffing them in c2200lb mk2's w/AWD swaps.:

Mostly because Hondas last like, -and- drive like refrigerators....

The rust look is indeed stupid; I've got rust on my cars, but none of it is deliberate.

I said the Corrado was cool...and I will agree, the VR6 is a very nifty engine, but most of the VW crowd I see locally drive golfs, jettas, and frankly, they're just not very inspiring. I do think a built up TDI could be interesting, though...just for the good gas mileage + stump pulling torque. But a lot of VW stuff is just ******* lame and ugly.

Is it cool to have rusted out portions of the sheet metal?

I understand hood riding, it makes sense. You take an old car with some issues, leave it cosmetically FUCKED, dump it, make it awesome.

But taking the Mk4 Jettas...and some of the newer ****, that is just plain retarded.

Off topic:

The Rado, even in FWD form is fun to drive, my buddy has a G60 making like 170 HP and its just a blast to rape corners in, neutral as hell. I miss my VW.

Seems like these rusting out pos hondas are trying to make their cars flaws cool. I mean come on, how many hondas do you see on the road that are rusting, paint peeling and etc. I can EASILY imagine some guy saying, "No man, it's cool, the rust makes the hood lighter." (with a Spanish accent and all)
