Don't know him too well and apparently is a gigantic newb which doesn't surprise me. They make like what, 230 or so hp to the wheels stock on top of weighing 3300lbs. I figure I'm making around the 160hp fm states running around 6psi so that puts our power to weight ratios in the same ballpark. Only raced from a roll, didn't want to bother otherwise and get my shit eated.
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g9.../06wrxdyno.jpg It is completely unmodded, on crappy 91oct, the only thing done to it is a custom, very conservative tune by me (at only 12.5psi, 1psi over stock)..I have a custom 17psi peak map that I flash in on special occasions that would bump peak numbers and everything below 5500rpm at least another 20whp. I ran a stock sti, and we are about even with him starting to pull away at speeds over 70. A tbe+tune sti absolutely rapes me. On a dynojet a stock sti usually puts down 245-50 or so. On a mustang about 220-30... For the record, my wrx is around 3200 with me in it (did a little weight redux). |
/\ 06 Stg 0.5:bowrofl:Love it!:bowrofl: Subie guys around here have always been big on "stages". I haven't had anyone ask me what "stage" I have on my Miata yet, but I'd have to guess "stage 1".:jerkit:

Why bother running anybody if your car isn't tuned? I left the dyno with 30 more whp after tuning my timing.

BTW: this only applies to subaru's, srt4's, cobalt's, and a couple other cars. Thats it. Anyone that asks what "stage" your miata is at is a complete and utter fucktard:giggle: |

no shit. I rolled-up on the dyno with a car I thought was incredibly fun that made 180whp/155wtq. I left that day with a car that frightened me making 261/252.

most wrx's gain about 40-60whp with just a good exhaust and a good tune. ask me how I know:D
Don't feel bad: wrx is a great car, but not as fun as a miata...again ask me how I know:giggle:

I was able to keep up and match speed with a new sti just on 5psi and bandaids. Car you raced probably wasn't stock considering the exhaust.
That was my car at 7psi (greddy with tons of bandaids) the day I put the FMIC on it, and dyno'd at 146whp. I ran into him on the way home and he wanted to run to see where we stood. This was probably the 4th or 5th time we raced. Anytime I did a mod, we ran to where I stood. That is the WRX that I mentioned above that made 260whp.

Attachment 204949 7psi w/ bandaids vs 6psi AEM EMS. Tuning IS everything. Attachment 204950 10psi tuned vs untuned. We turned the boost up from 6psi to 10psi at the drag strip, and just added fuel and pulled timing to be safe. The next day with put it on the dyno and did 3 tuning pulls. |
you motherfuckers need to turn the boost up and act like men.
