spider problem

getting into my car i am seeing spider webs. its been happening for a long time now but i want to figure out how i can solve this. how can i kill spiders in my car or keep others from getting in? anyone ever have problem like this?

spitefulcheerio 06-01-2011 11:17 AM

spiders can and will get into your no matter what you do.

Also, are the "spider webs" single strands? They could be from silk worms.

ive seen single strands yes, but there is also lots of strands connected. its so annoying when i have to get all that shit out of my car before i can drive. i even had a spider crawl on my arm while i was driving at night.

Fuck that... I would sell the car.

The miata is the only car I've had a problem with spiders. There's probably a couple dozen in mine as we speak. I just kill them when I see them.

I guess I can offer some real advice:

Make sure your top and windows are up at night. Don't park the car in grass for long periods of time. And of course make sure your garage is at least somewhat clean.

You can set off one of those bug bombs in the car if you want and it will kill the spiders plus any eggs that are in there. I imagine it would be a bitch to clean up though.

Burn your car to the ground. Kill them all with fire.

I've always had the little white ones in my various cars, though very few in my truck.

Sell the car buy a truck!

Foggers are designed to minimize residue and get into nooks and crannies. You will still need to wipe down the interior surfaces with 409 or Windex when it has finished settling for a few hours. Air it out with the top down for a few hours before wiping it down.

Brown widow??? Holy crap... Didn't know there was such a thing.

pusha 06-01-2011 02:46 PM

You could go ahead and try to top this:

phillyb 06-01-2011 03:18 PM

i fucking love spiders. don't kill them.
if you have spiders, then you have insects living in your car.
the spiders will kill the insects and probably move on to the next ho...
er next meal.

thagr81 us 06-01-2011 03:20 PM

If they are in my car... They be fucked. Same with any other bug for that matter. Unless they start paying for gas instead of bumming rides.

sixshooter 06-01-2011 03:33 PM

My parts car that came from Pinellas county (where rccote is) was full of brown widows and their eggs. Those sonsofbitches are highly venomous and will put you in the hospital. The egg sacks usually get a good dose of brake cleaner whenever I see them, but now they are showing up around the outside of the house, too.

MartinezA92 06-01-2011 03:45 PM

Fuck. That. Shit.

A spider crawled down my dash and I blasted it with pi-...err I mean I nearly broke my dash punching it. Bugs in my car while I'm driving is seriously bad news.

I have yet to meet a spiderbro.

rider384 06-01-2011 04:28 PM

Spiders scare the living shit out of me. Seriously. I would spiderbomb that shit 'till there's no tomorrow.

On my annual kayaking trip this year, us drunks built a huge bonfire, I'm talking 3 55-gallon drums full of wood. Then, someone stuffed a half-full can of Raid in there. It was pretty impressive. I highly recommend you do the same.

trickyrix 06-01-2011 04:46 PM

Meh... I get little spiders in my car, but I leave them be so they can eat the mosquitoes...
