Might be getting an S2000
I was at a farm sale yesterday. Another farmer friend of mine who buys and sells houses was telling me about a house that he just got back (owner financing-buyer left the state and abandoned the house). They went to clean up the place and there was some damage. Anyway, in the garage is an S2000. They took it home. They checked through their lawyer and it isn't stolen and there is no loan on it. They don't have a title, but they think they can get a salvage one. Windshield is broken out and the ignition key tumbler is broken out.
He doesn't know anything about these cars and just wants to recover the damages to the house. They have to hold it for 90 days in case the guy comes back for it (highly doubtful-he left and went to California). He thinks it's a 2003 and it has 34K on it. I might be able to pick it up for $2-3K -enough to cover the damages to the house. Gonna go see it this week. It's only 10 miles away. Wish me luck.

If at all possible don't do a salvage titles. If you ever try and sell it, a salvage title tends to devalue the car. Buyers tend to think it was damaged badly and repaired or that their are shady circumstances surrounding the vehicle. Sounds like a great deal, I just picked up a nice Audi A6 for $2K that worked out well for me.
