It's a Mighty Max...we used to have one.
They had a larger displacement motor, but I think the block was from the same DSM family. |

|
That thing was floaty with stock horsepower...he's gonna have to put as much into suspension as motor or it will be very entertaining.
Here's a swap thread: Project Zero G Forums ~ View topic - My 4g Mighty max project God I hope I'm wrong on this. Sounds like something that would get the judges' attention though. |
It's either a Beetle or a Karmann Ghia, with an engine swap.
Since it's GRM fodder, I'm leaning towards Beetle. |
I'm going with the E30. But if its a Datsun I'll buy it when your done!
|
One of you guys actually got shockingly close. I was surprised.
|
MMs kick ass. I had one for about a year. You can pretty well bolt up a 4G63 or 4G64/G4CS into it. Some work to make the TB face right, but tons of room in the bay, and that thing weighs nothing. Mine had a 2.2L IIRC and it got up and moved much much better than my S10 does.
|
I don't have a clue what it is, but I'm subscribed to find out!
|
Oh.. I like some of the guesses :D
BTW.. Ben you/we need to hit up the local pull-a-part... seems like some well needed parts are there :D |
I'm also going with Damon and saying small pick up....I've seen a couple of those

People think that their B6 and BP engines "take to boost." I think that these people have never come across a 4G63. The biggest MAP sensor we have in stock is 4-bar. And this thing will use every bit of that. Yeah, it runs 40 pounds of boost. 40. It's not just for diesel trucks. It also revs to 8500, and sounds delicious. I am truly excited to get started on this project. We will only be making ballpark 350 wheel, but we should also be <2000 pounds. |

he said one of you guys were close. for some reason i don't think it's a truck. somebody else said it's a beetle, and that would match the 2010 grm type build. but i'm gonna say (even though it might not be able to be built for $2010 doallars depending on the condition of the shell) early 70's-80's 911
|
Ben I would Like to help If it is a GRM 2010 entrant.
(G) |
Beetle shells are pricey nowadays. Hell, could be a Ford Ranger for that matter. Plentiful and cheap.
|
Ben. Are you planning to go public with this build, or keep it secret? I'm curious.
|
This one's under wraps until substantial completion.
