It's cool, I just hope the guy who is a cop on here will post and help me out.

Still need to fix this title situation, who is the Cop on the forums here?

There is a procedure in the State of GA for situations like this where you go to the police station and fill out some paperwork. A cop then has to inspect the car and sign the form (I assume they're looking for things like a screwdriver in the ignition switch or other obvious signs of theft).

Also, in my state, if the car is old enough you don't even need a title to register the vehicle.

Everything varies state to state, so you'll want to contact your local tag agent and see what's up.

I called some government phone number just now, and got the guy's name as Scott Wallace in Athens, OH. The guy I bought it from was named Scott so that has to be him, only problem is I didn't buy it from Athens, that is where he went to school at. They wouldn't give me his address or number....

Whatever you end up doing, have her pitch the bill too.

I would if she didn't have debt over her eye balls and had money. That's what my parents have separate bank accounts. My dad knows how to control his money, she doesn't. But she is a neat freak, go figure.

Go to the yellow pages and look up the guys name for the state. There can't be over 10-15 phone#'s to call. Make a fake bill of sale, don't tell him you lost the bill of sale. Just tell him you need another copy of the title. It should cost you $5.00 -$15.00. You should be fine.

I would, but the problem is, Athens is where he went to school at, not where he lives now. The address is an old address and I won't be able to get ahold of him there.

Try zaba search or one of the other name search websites. You know his name, state , if you find 3-4 people with the same name but different numbers call the all it should take you about 1/2 hour to find the guy. ( don't ask how I know)
