It wouldn’t matter if your going 70mph or 100 if someone is in the middle or the ******* road your not going to stop in time. My car would stop faster going 100mph than a F-150 going 70 so if the guy is n the street he is dead any ways. My dad has hit 2 people in AZ and guess what.. Not racing... humm If your in the road you just might die.

It was startin to sound like you were trying to convey that for all these reasons (live too far, can't afford track days, etc) that you were forced to race on the street. but if it is a choice, that's different. we gotta take responsibility for our bad behavior, right?

it takes a lot more than 30% more stopping distance when you stop from 30% faster... try twice as much.

more with cut springs!

Depends on the scene. In California in the damn desert. I went street racing all the time, it was relatively safe, well organized and just a lot of fun... plus the track was closed on Sat night. When the track was open I went there on Wed and Fri night... test n tune for sat's street races. Given the choice, I would always choose the track. That wasn't always an option even with 3 tracks in spitting distance from my house.

Now that I live in San Antonio, well the street racing scene here is a little more wild west, unorganized and to be honest dangerous. I don't street race here. It's just not the same as deserted desert roads in CA with people acting a little more sanely (unusual for california to come out on top regarding sanity but it's true.)

Mark, Do you want to race. My car is alot faster then yours is "right now".

I think when we pushed it on Sat it made it up to 5mph.

Also you need to change your sig. from 296RWHP to 3.5 Person power. the .5 comes from Corky sense he is like 90 years old or something.

I dont consider light to light drag racing "street racing"

drag racing proves nothing other than good reactions and a "fast" car, but I really like canyon running and I dont consider that racing, just speeding. and Im all for speeding.

that said, I prefer the track.

I can't race my Miata at the track or on the street....1.6 diff will go boom.

As lame as it is, the only time I've come close to racing it is when I built its likeness in Gran Turismo 4. I don't race on the street because the ticket will cost more than the track day in the first place. I can't afford the track or the ticket....ah, College=the anti track day.

yes its wrong. Pony up the money for the track. It's safe and if you win, there is a record not just the local flavor of the month.

I dont have to prove myself to every idiot on the street
