Has anyone tried Dillon Optics glasses? They look pretty cool.

Supposedly they use CR-39 plastic lenses and this worries me about using them for shooting, though I guess I can get a cheap pair of shooting glasses. 99% of the time i'd only be using them for driving.

The ones I am looking at are the "Logan" with blue lenses and matte frames.

LOGAN - Matte Black - Blue NIR Lens - Blue NIR Lens - Logan - Plastic Frames - Shop

I may change my mind on the frame and lense color, but that is what caught my eye.

Here you go, OP. https://www.revantoptics.com/replace...ey-half-jacket

I customize all my oakleys with new lenses and paint work. Better than OE lenses by a long shot.

Seems the quality is hit or miss? Some love them and others say they dont fit. What is your experience?

I buy prescription sunglasses at Costco. Aviator style.

I destroy things, so they typically last me about 1-2 years. Not real cheap, but considering they're prescription lenses I can't complain, I usually pay about $220 for the sunglasses AND the normal pair of eyeglasses together. Polarized and anti-reflective. Brown tint.

Probably the best photo I have. You can see my regular glasses hanging from my shirt down below.

I abuse my oakley holbrooks but you can but you can buy knock off polarized replacement lenses for $20 on ebay. They fit and look just fine so I go that route.

See if ebay has your knock off lenses for your glasses for cheap which should last you another couple of years or more.

Hmmm, the hc3 premium polarized or the standard polarized? Either way they offer a 60 day money back (including return shipping) guarantee. I could try them without risk of a dud. Too bad they dont offer mirrored finish on the hc3. Maybe thats a good thing? No coating to peel off.

Three hits so far.

I always buy the "cheap" versions of sunglasses and just make them my own.

I've had the same pair of Gascan Smalls for like...6 years and I'm on my third set of lenses. Plain Jane white frames but I did a wrinkle black on the Oakley insignia and went with jet black lenses (25 bucks on Ebay), but I broke them when I smashed my head into a trailer loading furniture. Now I have plasma purple lenses in it. Both replacements were Revant.

When I was at the Georgia Lake House Meet I "found" a pair of Oakley Holbrooks. Low end, plain Jain. But I swapped the Lenses for titanium mirrors and redid the insignia platinum. Love them.

I have less than $150 in my two frames and they are one-off and look like a high end unit.

Nearly pulled the trigger on a set of polarized revant lenses. Instead i went to a oakley store local to the area we staying.

Well they had a markdown section with some unbelieveable deals. Walked away with not one, but two pair for what i was gonna spend on just oakley lenses. Got a set of half jackets with xlj lenses and a newer half jacket 2.0. Both are grey with grey lenses. Not my first choice but i am not too picky. Doing a happy dance!!

They sell sunglasses in drugstores, gas stations, Wal-marts.

Glass is nice, but heavy -- on long drives or flights you feel it. Plastic is gonna' scratch, so be prepared to replace them if you somehow manage to not lose a set for longer than a year.

My only 2 criteria:
1. Brown or yellow lenses to enhance contrast.
2. Not too "homo" (bad enough that I drive a Miata).

Thinking of doing some paint on the old frames since i have two new ones. Looked at doing fake carbon fiber but i dont know about stickage to all the curves. I love this paint i use on my brake calipers. It's a low gloss black from dupli color i believe. What u think?
