So, I bought an air compressor. I'm going to take a stab at painting the car myself, so I needed something with enough SCFM to run an HVLP gun. Plus Lowe's had this one on sale, so I picked it up. :)

Campbell Hausfeld 60 Gal, 3.2 HP 240v compressor

Attachment 213420

It weighs over 250 lbs and getting it home was a lot of fun, with a lot of head-scratching trying to figure out how just my dad and I were going to get it off the back of the pickup truck, being that it has to stay vertical and is extremely top heavy. I'm still not entirely sure how we did it, but we got it into my storage room.

I also picked up a Kobalt (meh) air regulator, Kobalt filter, and a shutoff valve, as well as a crap ton of fittings and a 50' 3/8" hose. It's in a storage room that was wired up for 240v for a dryer way back when, so I should be able to use that for my hookup, right? It's a 15 amp circuit, and the compressor draws 12.5. I have to wire it manually anyway, as it didn't come with a cord. I'm also trying to figure out a clever way to mount the regulator and accessories, because if i just screw everything together off the side of the tank, it sticks out like 2 feet. lol.

On my tank we put a shut off valve right at the tank then hooked up a 25ft hose (that loops down a bit) to the water filter where another 50 foot hose goes to the tools. The water filter needs to be away from the tank a bit to be effective.

Got the Kobalt palm DA and its great.
