Surely im the sane one here?

So i lost my license for a few months due to a few shitty <10km/h infringements over the last 3 years. (Drove 35k km this year, they add up)
Now that's all well and good so i'm ditching my little mx5 at my parents (700km / 7h) this xmas for the next few months, as they have a spare lockable garage and im moving house soon.

My sister is driving me down in my car tomorrow, this is kind of scary.
However she just called saying she can't make the drive tomorrow because she has a washing machine being delivered. And has found a complete stranger on gumtree (craigs list similar?) to drive me the 7 hours...... As long as i shout him maccas.

Where does one put the lotion on the skin? and WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?

/endrant

Even Google couldn't help me out with "shout him maccas"... I assume that means he wants drugs?

I think he wants McDonalds?

slug_dub 12-20-2016 04:53 PM

Of course its McDonalds... only proper English is spoken down here. :giggle:

That certainly is a bit odd but hey, maccas is a small price to pay for the service... if its a good service...maybe he's lost his licence too... :ugh2:

aidandj 12-20-2016 05:13 PM

i'd probably drive someone 7 hours for some mickey dees (the correct spelling), if i was already going.

Good luck.

adryargument 12-21-2016 01:59 AM

I would definitely drive someone 7 hours in their own stock standard civic or soccer mum's car.
Maybe i would let a complete stranger drive my crappy little car if i had one. But no chance in hell am i letting someone unleash my little mx5 unless i know and trust them.

freedomgli 12-21-2016 08:29 AM

No way would I let a complete stranger drive my car. I'd sooner take the risk myself and hope not to get caught driving with a suspended license.

Exactly. It's really not hard to not drive like a c---.

I haven't even been pulled in like a decade. Money on tickets and increased insurance is just dumb.

Maccas is slang for "road head".
That's in the unwritten book of the road...page 69 if I remember correctly.

This made perfect sense when I realized you're in Australia

You know your numberplate will be on the 'watch list', and programmed into the mobile NPR cameras the police use (at least they do down this way)? As a result your car stands a good chance of being pulled over, just to check who is driving. That is also another reason to be very careful about who drives your car while you are suspended.

Indeed, managed to get both my cars 700km without getting pulled over. Don't think I saw one manned police car. Just about 20 speed traps.

slug_dub 12-22-2016 06:31 PM

Ah so you made it alive then? How was the road head?
