Default Need Heating & Air Conditioning Advice (for house)

In preparation for renting my house here in VaBch, I contacted a well-recommended company to set up a yearly contract for cleaning and servicing. The company has been awesome, kinda like dealing with BEGi. The guy they sent out to the house I would let date my sister... completely impressed.

So, I need new heating. I've got a dual-zone system, approx 2400sqft total, standard square house design, with attached garage and frog. I may need new evaporator packs for the AC units, and probably new ducting. AC condensors are 3yrs old, so good news there.

Other good news is that it's a crawlspace house with plenty of room underneath to work and a big attic with plenty of workspace, and the Frog is fed by both systems and normally the vents in there are closed.

So what's this all gonna cost me? 2xheating units, ducting in the attic and the crawlspace, and install? I might need new evap units for the AC as well? What am I looking at?

Probably don't want to hear this but you're probably looking somewhere around 6-7K. My dad's the head of the HVAC department here aat the University of VA, does alot of side work I help him with so that's a fairly educated guess. Really depends on what typ eof units and how reasonable their labor pricing is. I wouldn't do anything without atleast two estimates from reputable businesses in the area though.

Im waiting for winter/fall season to arrive to look at tackling the same operation. When the summer AC season slows down, and some jobbers might be more willing to work for less, just to have a job to do. Just my 2c .... your ducting is already there... might just need updating for better efficiency and flow.

Goodluck with the operation.

i can tell you now that waiting for HVAC guys to get slow won't get you anywhere except a REALLY HOT house in the summer and a REALLY COLD house in the winter.
