Tax Dollars at work, Swastika Naval building
|
that seems sort a really silly thing to care about during this time.
|
I think it's funny, leave it.
People who get pissed off just because a building looks like something that once represented a fascist regime that is all but gone now need to get kicked in the nuts. Get over it, Hitler is dead, it's just a building, don't waste thousands of dollars on such a petty thing. Damn people are stupid. |
So what, it's an ancient symbol bastardized by Hitler. I've seen it in Buddhist temples while I was in Vietnam.
|
oh god, people are retarded.
|
yeah, you can see similar symbols in some roman catholic churches, too. though it'll never be associated with anything else.
either way, hilarious that the building looks the way it does. :-) |
I have a solution that's relatively inexpensive. Tell people to FUCK OFF.
|
has anyone known about this before they read that article...
your answer should have been NO!!! i dont see who could have so much free time to browse google earth until they find something they dont like and then bitch about it, we should permit assisted suicide to those people |
move the holocaust museum there. and try not to look at it with JEWGLE earth.
|
1) yes, it's a little bit rediculous
2) the swastika symbol is many thousands of years old, pre egyptian even, and seemingly had a benevolent or at least neutral meaning 3) it wasn't until modern history where the swastika was used as a symbol of hate 4) the symbol was adopted by the nazi party because the symbol was used by early people who lived in what was to become germany. hitler chose the symbol for that reason, to spur a feeling of national pride 5) this symbol of hate was worn by the nazi party who attempted to exterminate multiple races off the planet. it is unkown how many people were murdered by the swastika wearing nazis, but it is estimated between 15,000,000 and 30,000,000. That's fifteen MILLION to thirty MILLION people. That's about 10% of the total popluation of the USA. Most of these deaths were not quick and painless. 6) the government was going to spend that $600,000 anyway. I'd rather have them spend it here, creating jobs for american workers, than have them buy more computers with internet connections for African villages. Do you have any idea how many american working families will benefit from a $600k construction project? 7) that naval building belongs to the taxpayers. the taxpayers want it changed. fucking change it. /end |
also, let us not forget this
TABLE OF WWII DEATHS |
good point...but still, how many people even know about it and how many are so upset that the government should spend more than half a million to make them feel better...there are many better things the gov. could spend 600K on and it would benefit many more americans...try health care, housing, schools, etc...not another construction project, we have enough of those in Iraq, you know
|
Wait a sec...people are getting angry here that $600k are being spent? You think THAT is a good example of inefficient government spending? Yikes.

Personally who gives a fuck, but if people are offended change it.
but the flip side is, The architect or engineer or anyone who looked at a damn blueprint knew it looked like a swastika so thats sketchy. At least 500 people saw the building as a swastika on paper. Whoa there jwarriner becasue of a few whiney fucks there was the civil rights movement, sufferage, and labor laws. |

Philip, BAN BUSH, lol
|
Trying to whitewash society of any trace of anything that 'offends' is futile....not to mention idiotic.
Everything can be deemed offensive to someone. The swastica is primarily an ancient good luck symbol, and a symbol of the sun and sun gods....thats why you see it on all manner of churches and temples and priestly attire. Most likely those in the nazi regime who picked this symbol saw it at church or at catholic school. That symbol, along with the maltese cross, (iron cross)are commonly seen in the catholic church. I showed this to my father, who served in WW2 in Europe...both in France and Germany....he thinks it's absurd too. Another example of futile political correctness. |
Since i was 15 Bush was banned. ask any of my gfs ;) but back to destroying jwarriner
Oh ok well I showed it to my grandfather who served in WWII and he thinks its absurd, so lets go ahead and keep those useless facts out of the conversation. My dog also thinks its offensive. Its not for you to judge offensiveness. If it was a building in the shape of the virgin marry being raped by a horse, I would be totally for it (have the blueprints in my trunk), but I have to take your word that its offensive to you. |

This is ridiculous because the building only looks like a swastika from an angle in which people aren't supposed to be looking at it. I think it's lame that pussies scour Google Earth looking for something to get all fired up about. Fuck them. This has nothing to do with WWII. It has to do with people who love being offended about stupid shit, they actually enjoy being offended. The civil rights movement is not even a fucking comparison. Civil rights affects people's lives. A building that looks like a swastika on Google Earth is pretty unimportant. If it bugs you, don't fucking look at it. |
You're an idiot. The issue for me is the design of the building in the first place and how this got through all the fucking contractors, bidders, engineers, and architects.
Practically, everyone should wear the same clothes, eat the same food, drive the same car.. blah blah blah. Its a matter of majority vs minority. |
not to mention the pc and arb
I can't paint my mailbox or hang an exterior light w/o reviews and a hearing. wonder how many contracting firms had copies of the plans. 150? |
God at least, for the job you have at least 5 GCs, you have to remember that for ever section of a spec, theres at least 5 bidders, so theres 25, then you have the sub contractors for each field. I know i have 15 competetors that bid against me each time, and Im just 1 section of the spec. The amount of people that saw that was disgusting.
Unless they only bid out one buidling then did it a bunch of times (but very very very very very very very unlikely, like never heard of) |

dude, its a building. and about .000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% of the population will ever see it from that angle.

Well then we should obviously spend even more money on congressional inquiries, investigations, panels and committees for a building that was built 40 years ago. Now that'd be money well spent. Then we can spend $600,000 turning it into a heart or bunny or something that won't offend people who have nothing better to do than hang out and look at Google Earth looking for swastikas and penises.
Did i say those people were right? No. I think theres other options, and if I want answers I will not go though a national congressional inquery. And your pissing 600,000 dollars? IN 2003 the goverment lost 25 billion, yup lost it. Unused airlines tickets - 100 million (not to mention the additional 8 million spent on buying the same ticket twice).... (most of the founders of the country were masonarys) Yeah 600,000 is a big deal. |

i doubt they saw a swastika when they built it, they probably saw 4 L shaped buildings with courtyards, where our service men would live
|
3% of the population is Jewish. That means at least 10 jews saw those plans, the definitly would have noticed the swastika. Thats playing just the percentages. If we include the fact that the majority of jews have higher educations then the percentage would increase. Assuming the people working with these projects had college educations. Someone noticed it was a fucking swastika.

Someone told me about this earlier today, and I thought it was BS. Guess not... |
See, YTMND has been reporting these secret nazi things for years. It must be a slow news month.
