Default next project 2: How about a SUPER budget turbo?

instead of a stroker build how about a 5psi turbo system on the heep?

Nothing crazy, but considering I live at 6,000 feet 5psi should just about normalize me to sea level pressure, fuel system should handle it as should the stock engine and ECU since I'm not running any boost if you think about it.

I'm thinking something like an STS, mount the turbo on the exhaust system, maybe a used WRX turbo, mount the flange to the stock DP, brace it, a little custom exhaust work and some piping to the stock TB hoses and you're done. That could be fun.

roughly.

Actually I used the wrong units, atmospheric pressure drops 1 in of HG every 1k feet on a standard day, we're at 6k feet so convert 6 inHG.....

the elbows are like $2.50 a pop and the T's are around $4-5. Thats like a $15-20 manifold + whatever your flange costs

i think that the turbo beign that low would mean you would need a scavenge pump for the oil drain....that would possibly negate any money you save using that sucky type setup
No, too many problems with the EGR.

Sucky setup? Guess you've never seen a car with an STS turbo kit on it.
