Is there anything equal to or greater than a Miata?

I think the mr2 would be the closest. The stock turbo engine puts out 200 hp at the flywheel. The car weighs about 2500 lbs and the stock internals are good for over 400whp IIRC. The interior is a bit more cramped then a miata and luggage space is complete garbage and that is relative to a miata not a normal sized car. Toyota reliability and you can find good examples for fairly cheap.

The S2000 is up there, but they made only about 1/10 as many as the NA/NB Miatas, they MSRP'd a decent bit higher, and they're not quite old enough yet.
I don't think anything will hit the same target anytime soon, and honestly it looks like even Miatas, while not getting scarce, aren't as cheap and plentiful as they used to be when shopping for a good base car to start your modding with.
If you have less than $5K, can handle 2 seats, lightweight and handling prowess are priority, and you want something easy to mod with lots of info out there, then the Miata is the answer.

Its a troll thread because its on par with asking: " whats better, supercharger or turbo? ". Vague, retarded, and will do nothing but stirr up drama.
You put no effort into creating a worthwhile topic, just randomly threw out a bullsh*t question and telling others to "show your work". Really?
Feel free to prove me wrong.
But despite my gut feeling, I'll give you an opinion:
NO
If there was we'd be driving it. Nothing is as common, as cheap, as easy to maintain, modify, etc etc etc.
There are tons of BETTER cars, but they're either not as common, more expensive, not as easy to mod, etc etc etc. So they don't all fit our criteria of: common/cheap/easy/fun
*edit: maybe a small handfull of cars that are almost on par....but I can't think of any right now EXACTLY like it.

Let me put it this way:
If someone just walked up to me and gave me a Ferrari, I'd sell it right away and buy a Miata.
(Or, I'd have to sell the said Ferrari in June or January, whichever comes first, when taxes on that car are due. FYI, taxes on the Miata are in the $170 range, with about $10K for the Ferrari.)

You pay yearly tax on your cars?? I don't understand. That's like somebody saying "you may buy a refrigerator to keep you food cold, but you'll have to pay me $35 a year because YOU OWN IT."
What kind of $hit is that?

As for Godless... I'd probably do the same, I'm much too tall for them anyways. (not that i've got a lot of head room in my miata )
