"quick, turn on our engines and flip our boat over backwards!"

In most EU nations, farting loudly is illegal.

Actually, even in the US this would be a crime if it were proven that the boat was constructed and sold with the knowledge and intent that it be used for the purpose of drug trafficking. It would be aiding and abetting, and most likely conspiracy as well. Depending upon the nature of the customer's criminal history and associations, the seller might even be prosecuted under the RICO act, which is basically one of the shittier things that can happen to a person.

"Highspeed uncactchable craft with a low radar signature"

Looks like a cool boat imo. Shame they imprisoned for doing nothing illegal(well as far as that article says).

I didn't read the article but 70mph is a shame. That thing looks like it should burn a trail across the water's surface w/ all that power behind it.

My friend has a 15' fiberglass hull bass fishing boat we take out. It has an 80hp on it and will do 35mph.

I'm confused.

Trying to point out that (1) 80hp gives us 35mph... this guy has 25x the power behind is boat and is only doubling that speed? It's pointless.

One of those motors costs 10x as much as my friend's entire boat w/ trailer.

To me, 35mph on open water is damn fast. Feels like you're doing 60mph at least.

Yah, because thats how it works

double the power = double the top speed

My miata could do 120 mph stock with 110 hp,
If I make 220 now that means I can go 240 mph right?

WTF does "double the power" have to do with my statement of 25x the power? Is 25 the same thing as 2?

If you miata had 25x the stock power, I imagine it would do double the stock top speed (or at least, be capable of it).

I'm confused how this is even necessary to point out.

EDIT: (8) 250hp motors on the boat total 2,000hp. You're okay with 2,000hp only equaling out to 70mph? I'm not. That **** is absurdly pointless. The cost of those motors is roughly $18k each. $144k to go 70mph?

Because its not that simple fuckface

How do you know that 25x the power = 2x the top speed

Think about the density of water, do you realize how much the resistance is going to increase with speed? Not to mention aero resistance.
Not to mention youre comparing a 40 foot long, 20 foot wide BOAT to your buddys little dingy (no homo).

Yeah, because 70mph in a low profile ocean going boat load with tons of drugs is slow. Even high end fiberglass bass boats with 300hp outboards, 70 is impressive, and that is on smooth lake water.

Have you ever stuck your hand in the water while riding in a boat moving at any speed over 5mph? It's not air.

High speed on the water is scary... but it still doesn't stop me from wanting a turbo powered pwc. I got to drive a guys SeaDoo RXP at the lake a few years ago, and my god! 60mph on the water feels like 150 on land. Incredible fun. Another toy I'd like to own one day for weekend lake trips.
