Thinking of selling.

After being a miata enthusast for 20 years, I think I'm done.. I barely drive it, and I'm more into 4x4 trucks/ATVs these days.. What would be a good asking price for my car?

95 NA Base model, black 140k miles
Engine built in 2006 - about 40 k on it.
10:1 compression, ETD Rods
LW steel Flywheel
LW crank
Enthuza exhaust
BEGI intake
Working PS/AC
Hardtop
5 speed trans shifts great
Head redone in 2016 - Mazdaspeed SUB (pain in the ass to set that up proper), mega rare Motorola cup cams, ported/polished. Sounds like a big V8 car with lumpy idle. Amazing top end. 8k RPM redline and it pulls there hard.
SI valves
Timing belt and seals done last winter
MS3 Pro PNP
Racing beat header
like new leather seats - amazing black interior
FM stage 1 suspension
real 15x8 RPF1 custom PC black w/new Continental ECS
The only thing it needs is a new wideband. Its a clean car.. No wiring harness mods..
Tons of spare parts.. bins and bins full of wiring harness, ECUs, misc. stuff. I have a torsen rearend in there somewhere..

I'm thinking 8500..

I think $8500 is in the right area given that it comes with a hardtop. Right now hardtops are going for ridiculous money. If yours is as nice as it looks from that picture you could probably get close to $2000 for it. I have seen plenty of perfect hardtops listed in the low to mid $2000 range lately. A friend just bought a non-perfect one for $1500 and a spec miata racing shop near me has a non-perfect one for sale for $1400.

There were two all OEM NAs on craigslist near me with hardtops that were listed in the $8kish range with similar miles and I cannot find them anymore. So, I guess they sold?

Either way, if I were shopping for a clean NA with a hardtop and saw yours next to either of the two that were near me, yours would be a no-brainer.

Thanks.

The hardtop is the worst part of the car. Sure, the paint is shiny, and the glass is clear, but the fiberglass has some cracks around rear latches, so I have it bolted on. I figure it's worth a grand by itself.. I thought about parting the hardtop and wheels, but nah. I have the OG wheels and decent tires too.

As annoying as it is to have to do 3 sales instead of just 1, you would almost certainly get more money overall if you sell the hardtop and wheels separately.

Even with the cracks in the hardtop, I bet you would get $1000 without much trouble (depending on how bad the cracks are).

Either way, it is a awesome looking car with a sweet mods list. I am a sucker for RPF-1s and use them as track wheels on my car.

Thanks again.

I'm a sucker for RP-F1's too. Took years to find a set that was in my budget.

They are rash free.. Just realized I could be sitting on $2500 for parting wheels and hardtop.. lots to think about...

You're welcome. They are awesome wheels!

I think $2500 would be easy for those two items if the cracks are not too bad and the tires are in decent condition. Then at that point you have a really nice Miata (as far as I can tell from that one pic) with some desirable mods. NAs are selling around me with mid-100s mileage wise for $4-5k, especially if they are rust free.

At least out here in TX, I would bet on you easily getting between $1900-2200 for the hardtop and, if the tires aren't shot, somewhere in the $750-900 range for the wheels. I recently sold a set of silver, 15x7 RPF-1s with totally shot, 7 year old tires, and some curb rash and tons of brake dust for $750 within a week or so of posting the ad on FB marketplace (don't judge I hate it as much as everyone else, but it's where the market is...)

Facebook is definitely the place to sell large items that you don't want to ship, I have had better luck on there than craigslist.

If you do decide to sell the wheels, please let me know because I might be interested.

I'd be very interested in the entire package if you decide to sell... been looking to get back in the game and you're car is almost exactly what I'd want.

Give me a heads up so I can get a jump on the divorce papers. :likecat:
