Eh if friends, his girlfriend, and even some of the CR guys say that he had been acting weird I can believe the mental health problems. It's too bad they weren't able to get him help soon enough if that is what it was.

Weed sure as hell doesn't make you that crazy.

I use CR.net for some local stuff, but other than that it's a total lost cause. Does suck to be banned though, as I will from time to time find something good in the classifieds.

Yeah definitely, it is. Might make another account just to browse & find parts when needed. It does, just because I was concerned with what would happen to his small business.

The off duty cop "thought" he heard gun shots and fired back.

Car probably backfired for all he knows...someone asking him for help in a shooting doesn't seem like grounds to kill him. For all he knows someone else could have been shooting at Ben and he finished the job. Sounds like he needed help and got shot instead.

The media and news will protect those who are powerful enough to get it....looks like justice was served as per usual.

I never met the guy but chatted back and forth on hipstergram from time to time. Seemed like a reputable guy and had a growing company as well as a sweet pad by the looks of it. It's fairly obvious something doesn't make sense in the story.

I guess those are just my 2 cents of respect towards a dead man whether or not I agree with his car modifying tactics or website forum of choice. Take it as your wish.

@preluding
/rant

People I've chatted with don't usually get shot and die regularly around me...maybe it's no big deal to you gays.

The guy sounds like he was beginning the slide into schizophrenia. These breaks commonly occur around his age when someone is under stress which a small business can provide. There are also studies that show that heavy marijuana and other drug use can trigger these breaks in people who are predisposed to the disorder via family history.

That was exactly my thought Ryan. It's easy enough to check if the GF really did file a police report. No conspiracy required.

There most definitely is a link between them Dann. One of the causes/symptoms of schizophrenia (we don't really know the full cause yet) is a dopamine deficiency, and weed inhibits dopamine production.

It doesn't cause schizophrenia, it just brings it on more quickly if you already were going to develop it, and it makes the symptoms a LOT worse.

I'm not hear to argue this point. The studies are sound and have been repeated many times. I stated that it is only linked for people who are predisposed to the condition. I really just mentioned it because the pot plants from his house were noted in the article. I am not trying to talk about the negative effects of marijuana which is far less dangerous than alcohol. Despite what the advocates will tell you, just like any other mind altering drug marijuana does have some negative side effects for all or part of the population.
